Shot a 22/45 tonight. It was nice except for the trigger...could really use some help. Does anyone know of a good inexpensive trigger job for it?

I think there was a thread on TFL.
Check the archives.

Volquarzten (spelling?) makes a triggger, hammer and sear that are replacement parts. Swap parts, adjust overtravel screw and it will be perfect.

I installed a Volquartsen kit in mine. Wonderfull improvement. Everything was drop in fit.

Good Luck...

I sent one of the early ones back to Ruger to correct some problems and they managed to do a 2.5-pound trigger job on it that was just peachy and held up perfectly. IOW - it can be done.

It's been my experience that the trigger is just fine after you adjust the overtravel and perhaps shim it.

There is an overtravel adjustment screw on the front of the trigger--you'll have to disassemble the gun to get at it.

The 22/45 frames seem to be a tiny bit looser than the MKII frames. I had to shim the trigger on my 22/45 (found a couple of tiny thin washers to put on each side) after adjusting the overtravel.

I don't own one of those pistols, but am thinking about buying a remanufactured Ruger from http://www.volquartsen.com.

I have a Volquatsen barrel for a High Standard, and it's one of the two most accurate barrels I've ever shot. Top quality workmanship, and top quality customer service, too.

Thanks for the input guys :) Does anyone know off hand how much these trigger kits cost & where I can find them?

On Target is the place to go for rimfilre Ruger (pistol or rifle).

Of all my guns, including some smith worked 1911s and USPs (although still waiting to get my Expert back from Bruce Gray), my Mk II with the <$80 Volquartsen accurizing kit has, by far, the best trigger.

YZGuy has a great web site with the assembly instructions, or you can send it to Bill at On Target and he'll do it for you for cheap.

You owe it to yourself to at least TRY to adjust the overtravel before buying a kit. You're going to have to disassemble your pistol to the same degree either way.
