I was looking at new earmuffs and would like to buy electronic muffs.
I would like your opinions on the good ones or the ones you own.
Thanks.

Muffs get in my way shooting shotguns and rifles. I use E.A.R. ear plugs, the blue neckpeice means I don't have to bend over and pick one/ both when I drop one...though I have the single versions with me as well.

I travel light, pack light and keep simple . Don't like stuff hindering my shooting, and to be honest, don't listen to what a lot of folks have to say anyway...smile, nod head and walk away from gun grabbers, anti's and idiots. I ain't got time for stupid people, for darn sure don't want to hear 'em yak.

My hearing is fine - I do the safety stuff, but my shooting glasses are old style too. I really don't give a damn about making a fashion statement or being "tactical".

I'd rather buy ammo and shoot.

You can get new Peltor tac 6's over on Midway for about $70. They work great. Once you try a headset that lets you hear but effectively cuts out high sound levels you will be spoiled. I got the behind the neck version which lets you wear a hat as the band passes behind your head.

The cups have a profile that does not interfere with a rifle stock.

I picked up a tip from another poster. If you sweat on a warm day or under a lot of exertion it will eventually, sometimes fairly quickly, ruin the electronics.

The ear seals and the foam inserts are designed to be taken off so you can replace the batteries.

Take them off and when you put them back on put a piece of saran wrap between the seals and the cups. After you snap the seals back in place just trim around them with a pair of scissors to remove the excess saran wrap. Now you have sweat proofed your electronics.

I am sure there are better for more money, but these are a good value and they don't clip nor have they ever failed to lock out the sound.

i used to wear a pair of tac 6 's daily in the shop, but have moved up to tac 7's more comfortable cups, better DB supression, and for me they do not affect rifles but ican not shoot clays with them, i use plugs for that.

I think the tac 7's are worth the extra 50 bucks
