There has been some talk lately of Glock pistols siezing up.
I have seen this problem with my Glock 19 and others, which was always caused by cheap ammo. The solution was to hold the pistol in my left hand and smack the backstarp smartly with the Y of my right hand.
However..from what I heard, the latest problems were more serious and needed professional help to fix.
So..I asked my friend who manages a very popular gun store on Long Island.
Apparantly a small number of Glocks left the factory with rail problems, caused by improper machining when Glock changed equipment.
Glock is recalling the pistols involved, and the factory problem has been fixed.
So..I will be buying a Glock 26 in the near future.
And I only use Winchester ammo ( white box, $5.50 at Wal Mart)
for pratice.

My Glock 17 had trouble seizing up, but it was the trigger and not the slide. No matter how hard you pulled the trigger, it wouldnt let off. It happened within the first 200 rounds the frst time and was sent back and supposedly fixed. It happened again a few thousand rounds later and I wouldnt trust it after that. I had a similar problem with my Keltec .32.

Did you lube or over lube the connector? Too little lube will cause it to bind and too much lube will cause it to stick.

Do a search over at www.glocktalk.com Lots of posts cover the questions you asked. :)

I had a G30 that was unreliable until I *thoroughly* cleaned the firing pin channel. (Slide detail strip.)

Do it.

Often.
