I bought a PM9 for a pocket gun adn light go anywhere gun. It is serving its purpose well but I have noticed I carry it more than I planed to when I run around town because its so easy to put under a tshirt for a quick trip. I normally carry a Kimber Compact but that usually requires a little more effort than I put out to go to McDs.

I've been eyeballing the XDs online. They offer a higher capacity which is the one downside on the little Kahr.

For those who've shot used both how would you compare them.

You're just gonna have to shoot one for yourself. The XD has a ton of supporters, and a few naysayers.

Personally I had issues with the 4" service model...but that's just me.

I've shot both. The PM9 trigger has a pull that's a bit smoother and more consistant from start to finish. In my hands the XD is a bit more accurate because it has more grip to hang onto. They are both fine shooters.

The Kahr is decidedly easier to carry, being slender rather than fat.

Both are good reliable guns.

The XD is slightly more comfortable to shoot.

In my hands, the Kahr is slightly more accurate.

As you said, the XD carries more ammuntion.

Can't go far wrong with either one, but if you're the type to leave an uncomfy gun home on your nightstand rather than adjust your wardrobe around it, I'd say you should stick with the Kahr.

When going out for an extended period I will dress around my pistol. I went downtown this afternoon in 90+ weather in jeans and a polo with a Kimber Compact, 2 mags, some fox 5.3 and a streamlight TL-2 plus my "normal" junk.

That being said it sure is easy when I have jeans on and a light Tshirt to clip the little Kahr on my belt and not worry about having to put something heavy like a Polo on to cover a larger pistol to run to the McD drive through.

Thanks for the info guys and gals ;)

I'm taking a few people shooting for the first time next week and may have to rent one of the lil XDs for myself.
