I am going to get an Sar-1 shortly.
Where do you folks get your accesories?
I would like a front grip for it.
Also is there anything I need to know about the rifle ?
Thanks Bill

K-Var Corp. has the front grip. Get a copy of Shotgun News. All the AK parts folks advertise in there. You can get mags from AIM Surplus and other places. Ammo is available all over the place. The only thing you need to know is that to keep this weapon legal, you have to keep the FIVE U.S. made parts. On the SAR1, these are: operating rod, pistol grip, fire control group (they count for three parts.) Do NOT put a foreign made pistol grip on (I'm talking pistol grip by trigger.) The weapon will come ready to rock, so you won't need to put anything on it anyway. The front pistol grip you can do, but bear in mind it will make changing mags a little slower because you won't be able to do the "AK rock" as well (when you get it, you'll see what I mean by that.) You can learn to overcome that, of course. Keep weapon clean. Yes, AKs are reliable under all conditions, but that's no excuse for a dirty weapon. Take care of it. You never know how long these will still be available.
