Was cleaning my attic today, over in the far corner, under about 60+ years of collected dust I found an old Dutch Master box, made of wood, 25 cent label still on it. I opened it and inside were a variety of different cartridges, 45-70, .38 special, a .22 High Power, a .401 special judging by the head stamp, 32-20, an odd looking one labeled .30 gov and a bunch of others. However, one round in the box has me really stumped, and a little scared. The head stamp is as follows "W.R.A Co 45 S. 3 1/4"

I did what research I could and found out it's made by Winchester. I'll give the dimensions as best I can, brass case is 3 1/4th inches long, the bullet itself is about 1 1/2 inches long. Don't even want to imagine what kind of gun this ammo went into lol

Any help would be greatful. I'm doing reasearch myself and figure more then one head is better lol

I'll hazard a guess that it's a .45 Sharps load.

Sounds like a 45-120 Sharps. A fairly serious long-range cartrige and a neat find.

Now all you need is a nice rifle from Shilo Sharps to with it.
