I am looking to buy either an ankle holster to wear over my leather riding boots, or a shoulder holster of some kind to wear under my leather jacket.
The gun is a subcompact Glock. Can anyone here recommend a good AFFORDABLE setup?
Thanks

Plenty of nylon shoulder holsters at the gunshows I've been to, and lots cheaper than the Galco leather rig. I bought one for my SIG.
Fortunately for me, the inside breast pocket on my leathers hold my Kimber in the right angle and depth. :D

As an avid motorcyclist (I sell, ride , and build them) I've thought about this a bunch.
From what I've determined, the type of holster you'd want for shoulder carry will be determined by what type of bike you ride.
A leaned over sportbike (such as a Ducati 999SS or R1, etc) will require more than tension based retention. In other words, a strapped down shoulder holster would work well. But, in the event of a crash, having that weapon under your arm can cause severe internal damage if you land on the weak side arm under which the weapon is nestled. So, you go from a few scrapes to a crushed lung. Something to ponder.
If you ride a cruiser like a Harley, Vulcan, VTX, or one of the "choppers" that are so famous right now, you can use about anything you want as far as shoulder holster. In fact, several members of motorcycle clubs with whom I comiserate wear shoulder holsters underneath their colors. Which is why the wannabes wear vests just like the real guys. They want to look like strapped "bikers" while on their day off rides.
If you're right handed, pay attention to your exhaust location relative to your ankle holster. Don't wanna cook off any rounds or try to draw a weapon too hot to handle, do ya?
As for product recommendations, I can say that I couldn't recommend anyone's stuff for carry on a bike. Most of what I've seen is basically Gov't .45's in cut down army surplus rigs or made for the individuals I know.
I carry a cut down Ruger Super REd Hawk in .44 (now that my p345 has shown it's true colors :cuss: ) that rides in a homemade holster on my tank bra. I'm a lefty, so it works out well. When I get off the bike, I put it in my shoulder hoslter under my vest.

Galco Royal Guard IWB. It's been there through thick and thin with me, and hasn't given me one problem.

The bikes I ride are sportbikes. Ducati Monster and Kawasaki Z1000.

Remember he said he has a Glock. Think molten teflon.:neener:  ;)
I use a Galco shoulder rig. I also have a vest that has a section for guns on each side. Here's a link for the vest. Can carry a full sized 1911 and not print.

It depends on what I'm wearing.
If it's cool & I'm wearing my leather jacket, I'll slide my Mustang into the inside pocket & a 1911 in a hard saddlebag inside a nylon holster belt holster (just to keep it covered). When I get off the bike, I'll usually carry it in a Galco Jackass rig.
Wheelgunslinger's comment aside, I do wear a vest (& don't want to be a clubber). When it's cool the vest is over my jacket, but when it's hot I'll wear the vest over a T & the Mustang is located within the inside pocket. However, my current vest is laced on the sides & a shoulder holster is somewhat visible so I'll carry IWB or OWB off the bike; either a .45 or .40 semi-auto or .357 snub.
The points wheelgunslinger made about doing a tumble with a handgun should be taken seriously. I'll also add that I'm not real comfortable carrying a 1911 cocked & locked for similar reasons; I don't know if getting off at speed could result in the gun becoming unholstered, off-safe, or both. Could be nasty though.

Uncle Mike's IWB #5 with a full size 1911 on board fits very nicely into the breast pocket of an Aerostitch Darien jacket.
