I recently purchased a SW99 .40. I love the grip, the weight ... pretty much everything except the sights. It takes me a full 3 seconds to aquire my target sighted properly ... not good!

Any good aftermarket sights available for this weap?

While I was at the location where I bought the sw99, I picked up a Steyr ... my goodness that weap has very nice sights - immediately drew my eyes to the target as soon as I raised the weap - I just didn't like the way it felt in my small hands. I would love to get a similar trapezoidal sight system on my SW99 ...

I am fairly new to ownership ... have always just occassionally gone to the range with friends, so please consider me an absolute rookie - :p do not asume I know anything.

Oh .. could also use a pair of 12rd mags for it (got it with a pair of 10rd mags) ...

Thanks in advance for your suggestions (sight sites, brands, tips, etc).

They make a set for the P99. I don't have them, but funds permitting I will soon.

I forgot to post a follow-up on this. When I got back from Alaska, I ordered the BigDot Express for the SW99. WOW!! What a difference! Nearly instant target acquisition, and, after a few windage adjustments, FAR better accuracy. I would HIGHLY recommend these sights to anyone with sub-par stock sights. The in-line tritium really helps near dusk too - no question at all as to whether I am sighted in when I raise my weapon ... just " dot the i ".

The only problem I found was fitting the front sight when I first got it. Really light sanding on the insert post fixed this in less than 1 minute - perfect fit, snug ... did I mention instant acquisition? I like this site even better than the Steyr traps :D

Thanks a million for the link, simonBarsinister.

Glad everything worked out for you. I will really be getting a set for myself now.
