Don't have much to say about it, but I had to watch it 5 or 6 times.

Hmmm... I note cops standing around in the background, doing nothing. The people are obviously Oriental - wonder where this was?

China. The text on the screen was Chinese and so was the language (what I could hear of it). Don't ask me what was being said, though. I only do Japanese. :)

Well - he wasn't that old!!! Did prove tho that if being attacked - take the fight to them - he seemed in control! :)

Taiwan or S Korea? (sure wouldn't be North Korea!!!).

Correct, Rabbi -

Either the People's Republic of China or the still (?) Republic of China (Taiwan). Ethnically Chinese. The broadcast is not from South Korea.

On the other hand, the clip could have been Chinese coverage of something else entirely. Can't tell...

Looks like a few well placed shots to the throat, and he didn't need no stinkin' gun to handle 3 guys attacking him, either. ;)

Also notice how it "wasn't that serious"?

Exchange of blows, move away, posture, exhchcnage of blows, move away... If any of the involved parties had simply stayed on the attack, they would have been the one left standing...as it was, no one was seriously hurt and tehy were all standing when the vidoe feed stopped.

Looking at the area, it kind of looks like Hong Kong and with the LEO's dressed like they are. The woman was telling someone to be careful, probably the camera man?

Pythonguy,

Take note, this guy has situational awareness of his surroundings. Mid-way through he arms himself. At first I thought he just picked up his cell phone, but when he came up the phone was still on his belt. I dunno what he picked up but he starts using it. (BTW: Does it go flying later in the video? When hitting Tweed Guy?)

Also I agree with Paul Gomez's take. These guys were obviously rookies, probably some punk kids (early to mid thirties?). When he turns to start beating the guy in the tweed jacket behind him the other two rush from his blind spot, this is toward the end of the fight. I also noticed he used quick footwork, and almost all hand strikes with quick move throws to knock his opponents off balance, and a little bit of grappling defense. No kicking. Strong core and low base center of gravity. This kept him very mobile. I would guess some variant kung fu. Yeah China most likely.

It's also very obvious this guy did NOT want to go down. To go down in the street spells disaster, though this was soft grass. But I don't care, you land wrong by some freak accident it hurts. Also once you are off your feet you are an easy kill. No mobility.

If these dumb guys were a little smarter they would have organized a joint attack where their only goal was to get this guy off of his feet. Once down one guy could tie him up while the others beat the snot out of him. That's why he has this attack retreat approach he's using, again as Paul pointed out. That way one of them couldn't get behind him to sucker punch him. Though one did get behind him early when he does that double twisting arm motion to two guys at once. I think that's why he initiated that secondary attack on Tweed Guy, now with a hand weapon no less. He went for what he considered the most dangerous threat.

Either way, yeah this guy knew how to handle himself.

What also curious P95 is it seemed he was the aggressor, picking the fight. You see him yelling at the guys first, then they charge him. He then descalates via superior tactics. :D

I see now. Of the three guys, two in the black sleeve black pocket jackets.

Guy number one, in the Mickey mouse shirt, with the lighter gray, black sleeve jacket rushes. Shot to the throat knocks him down when he leaps.

Guy number two, again in a black sleeve jacket comes flying in, and he is armed. He tries an overhand strike when jumping in. I think the two black sleeve guys brought billy clubs. The kind filled with sand, concrete or lead shot. Though they may also be umbrellas. Our uh, "hero" arms himself with one that it looks like he picks up after knocking down the initial attack. After they get up though you can see both the Black Sleeves are also armed. So I don't know where the third one came from unless he picked it up from Tweed Guy.

Also when they first try to jump him, and Tweed Guy is behind him someone from the crowd pulled Tweed Guy away for a split second. If that hadn't happened Yellow Guy might not have been so fortunate.

It's definitely filmed in either Guangdong Province of mainland China or (more likely) Hong Kong - they're speaking Cantonese, and the TV station is TVB Jade, a local Hong Kong station.

I'm late to this thread but does anyone have an alternate video link? My web filter at work doesn't like that link.
