Who makes the best recoil pad? Kick-Eez, LimbSaver, or another brand?

Gary, what is the gun for, chamber length, and most common use?

For a target gun I think the Kick-Eze is probably the way to go. On a hard kicking hunting hammer the Limbsaver feels like it takes more of the bite out.

The Pachmyer Decellerator is a good'un. I doubt either of the two mentioned is much better, or worse. I'd possibly go with the Kick-Eez on a target gun for the extra softness. The Decellerator is a great choice on a hunting tool.

The best pad cannot make up for bad fit or form, but it does help a bit when those are OK.

I've been a believer in the Decellerator for a while. My O/U sports one, and it works well. However, when Kolar tweaked my wife's Beretta, they added a Kick-Eez Rocker. After a bit of messing around with both of them, I really like the Kick-Eez product.

My next shotgun project is going to be cutting down the synthetic stock on a Winchester Defender and installing a Kick-Eez pad. The factory "pad" on that gun is horrible. The shape and lack of "give" seems to increase the amount of felt recoil. I find the hard-plastic butt-plates on my Model 12s and A-5 to be way more comfortable than that USRAC POS. I figure a 13" LOP with the Rocker should be just right.

Iv'e also had good experience with Pachmyer Decellerators, have them on at least 5 of my shotguns. I do have a Kick-eez that I bought to try out, but have yet to install it.

I have had good experiences with the Decelerator and Limbsaver. I've never (yet) tried a Kick-Eez. Last time I was set to order one, the gunsmith at Brownells talked me out of it, partly because it sounded like it might be a little on the "sticky" side for a field gun and partly because it didn't sound like it would be as durable in the field (softer rubber). My own experience has been that the Limbsaver works a little better than the Decelerator, but YMMV.

Pachmyer Decellerator is the one I have used forever on too many guns from competititon, to hunting.

Honest, never cared to try anything else since what works - works.

Currently I have the original pad on the '74 SX1 and the 870 Express...because I want to and " them old guns and them stock pads wont' work" .
Just the words a Rebel like me enjoys hearing and proving differently...
