couple questions

1. I've been a member of similar forums for several years, and nobody has ever told me nor have I asked: how are the time and services for monitors, tech supporters, adminsitrators, etc funded? I cannot imagine that all the hours would be just volunteer. I don't see any advertising pop ups that would be a source of funds.
2. Now this is really going to show my ignorance: where are all you folks who run such a forum as THR? Maybe you can be spread out throughout the world as far as I know. Coupled with this is: what equipment do you need to run forums besides a computer?
3. Perhaps I have overlooked the answer to this, but I found icon meanings for envelopes, but there's a lot of stuff that I don't want to spend my entire vacation to locate and decipher. Do you have anywhere in this forum a very simple abbreviated set of instructions on how to efficiently use the forum? When I was just reading a posting and the answer regarding how to post photos, I thought I was reading Greek.
PS I usually don't spend too much time on fourms, but have a couple of days left of vacation, so am doing a couple of posts and a few questions.
PSS: THR is pretty impressive.

Click on a forum and scroll down to the bottom -- you'll see a key for the envelope icons there.

Also check the "f.a.q." (Frequently Asked Questions) by pressing the button near the top right of most screens. There's a wealth of info there.

Appreciate the timely answers, even on NY Eve and NY Day! I should have been a little more resourceful and have visited FAQ where, as was pointed out, there is a wealth of inforfmation.
I'm still amazed at the time moderators, etc put in on a forum such as this; obviously you don't play golf.
I intend to be a senior member and contribute to THR when I can. Happy New Year!
