I'm not sure if this was the right place to start this, but I thought it might be since we're basically talking about "accessories" for guns, albeit Star Wars guns. :D

On occasion I get the opportunity to do some custom work. I recently had the chance to make up some holsters, gun belts, rifle sling, etc., for this young girl. Her and her family went to the Star Wars convention in Indianapolis last month, where she won first place in the costume contest. Her dad said they took over 1,000 pictures of her. There were some 30,000+ people in attendance, as well as the man, George Lucas, himself. Here is a pic of her and a photo collarge of the actual character from the movie, Episode I:

Whoa! That's wild! :what:

Did you make just the holster or did you also do the belts accessories too? How did you manage without having the firearm present as a 'mold', so to speak???

You gotta show some close ups, Man! :D

Thank you, gentlemen.

Gary, I actually made the two holsters, the two gun belts, the rifle sling and did the majority of the work on the vest. The gun belts hold other "accessories," too. I got to use a replica of one of the guns the young girl carried to make/mold the holsters. I worked from a number of pictures provided by the Dad that showed various angles. I set up the belts/holsters so that there would only have to be one piece replaced as the young girl grew - rather than have to replace the whole set up potentially every year.

With more than 1,000 pics arriving, it's taking some time for the Dad to sift through them and forward to me.

I'll be setting up a special page on the website for people to view this project, as well as future ones that we get the opportunity to do.

Cool.

Post 'em when you get 'em!

Do you know if those pics are going to end up is some publication of sorts? That'd be neat.

I always wanted that holster that Harrison Ford wore in "Blade Runner". Got a 627 that would ride nicely in it.

Here's a couple of more pics of the young girl that show a little bit closer the work we did.

While searching, I was amazed at the sheer numbers of people who dressed up for the convention, and to the extent they went to replicate the character(s).
