Found a couple of interesting articles. They're on a Finnish Web site, but the text is given in both Finnish and (oddly translated) English, so they're readable.

The first article (http://guns.connect.fi/gow/historia5.html) is about shotgun slugs of the past century or so. There are some odd designs - very interesting stuff. An example is the "shotgun dart":

The second article (http://guns.connect.fi/gow/historia4.html) goes into more detail about Russian and other slugs, etc. Most of the text is in Finnish, but pictures are captioned in English. An example of Russian slugs:

The main Web site is here (http://guns.connect.fi/gow/gunwriters.html) for those who like eclectic firearms information. Enjoy!

:D

Preacherman, Thanks!

Well, I see I didn't make the history books on my custom 28 ga slugs of yesteryear...and for sure mine was darn sight better looking than some...and worked past 15 meters...

They have better names I'll grant them that...still a southern boy can't pronounce 'em... :p
