LennyJoe, I got a firestorm mini in .40 two months or so ago (saw it when I went to get the Cetme and just couldn't resist) and absolutely love mine! I'd like to try it in .45! Is that what you replaced the 24/7 with?

Do you like that Bersa .45
I do. I never thought the Kimber would be in any danger of hiding in the safe but the Bersa is giving it a run for the money.
How do you like yours
The pistol feels great in my hand. Grip fits my hands to a "T". Trigger pull is pretty good and the gun is easy to control. Love the ambi slide release and decocker. Downfall is that I cant carry it cocked and locked like the Kimber cause the safety is actually a de-cocker. So I carry with the hammer decocked which makes first shot a DA pull. Magazines are expensive for the .45 at $39 each. Thats another downfall. Also, the grip cover is plastic. Wish they would offer one that was rubber. No holsters out there yet for the .45 so I have it riding in a Safariland holster made for a Glock 19 which fits just fine.
Is that what you replaced the 24/7 with?
Yes. And it was a good trade too. The 24/7 isnt a bad pistol, just didnt like the DAO trigger. Even though I lost a couple of rounds, the Bersa is a better match for me.

The .40 Firestorm has rubber grips... :D It's just as comfy as the .380 was, but holds 10 rounds of 40 compared to 7 of .380 ... I actually prefer decocked DA/SA to safetied SA like 1911s have. I prefer shooting it over my Glock 27 anyday!

.you hate to conceal that holster! g56 - in fact yes - it is (well both that I posted) a great shame to keep covered - the black one with the eagle - for SIG is a real beaut.
I do tho as this evening - let it be shown to all - as we had a steel shoot at the club - and then it is open carry all the way - many have commented on the design.
Once away from club tho - it's back to incognito - until home and then it's open again.
I'll bet a fair bit of tasty leather gets much less than its share of light of day!

I've surely seen some beautiful leather in this thread, to be sure. Nice pistols, too. Nice belts, mag pouches, stocks, speedloader pouches... all that. They look great. Some are even in the "barbecue rig" class.
But y'all are completely cracking me up with what you're calling "everyday carry rigs."
I've not seen a holster with any real wear on it yet.
Now, none of this is my fancy leather. Fancy leather is NOT everyday carry. Everyday carry is what gets the job done. It's often pretty ugly. The pictures that follow are basically my underwear. While some folks might have pretty underwear fit for public view, most don't wear it on a day-to-day basis. I sure don't. :)
My main battery, my Kimber Stainless Classic, with its factory original and highly worn Hogue-style stocks (note where the seatbelt has worn through the rubber to the plastic underneath), complete with a little skateboard tape on the frontstrap. It's in a GunGlove IWB holster, circa 1978, and is next to a Johnny Guest beltslide holster that I've redyed recently, but which is circa 1970:
http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=26419&stc=1
Then we've got my Chief Special (M37) Airweight (Circa 1980?) with it's Pachmayer boot grips on it, in a cheesy Uncle Mike's body-armor holster that I've been using for ages as a pocket holster. Along with it is a KelTec P3AT, with its belt clip on it while it's in its less-cheesy-but-still-cheesy Uncle Mike's pocket holster (which works very, very well, BTW). Note that finish worn off the Airweight! That's some honorable service wear there, friends! That's a quarter century of regular carry, and it shoots beatifully. Views of 'em in and out of the holsters:
http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=26422&stc=1
http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=26420&stc=1
Finally another version of carrying that old M37, in an Uncle Mike's Sidekick ankle holster. Most of this carry was in a boot, but some with lowquarter shoes under slacks. Note how the stitching is finally giving at the back of the trigger guard. I just left the old body armor-turned-pocket holster in the picture for grins.
http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=26421&stc=1
Daily wear, friends.
Oh, I could have also put in my G-Code paddle holster that shows almost zero wear after 3 years of carry, but I wanted to stress-- these holsters are worn. And I'm no more ashamed of 'em than I am of the decent, well-made double-knit socks in my dresser drawer that are slightly threadbare but still serviceable after years of wear. I'll use 'em until they stop providing good use, and then I'll get some more.

You got that right. Thats why I quite using leather holsters. Got tired of rusty guns and having to buy new holsters every summer and fall. I went to Kydex about 10 years ago and never looked back. I'm still using daily the Blade Tech IWB holster I bought then to replace my Galco Royal Guard. The only thing I've had to do to the Blade Tech is replace a couple of straps that wore out. Other than that and a small piece of the sweat guard that snapped off, it still looks like new. Leather is pretty, but kydex is for daily use, especially in the summer in hot and humid SE PA. :)

Matt,
I hope my two did not offend - they both were photographed soon after Kevin of K&D had made them. The SIG rig is now well and truly broken in having been in daily use, tho it is quite ornate which may seem incongruous - that tho was Kevin's creative flair at work!
The rig for the SP-101 has also seen plenty of use now but it still looks pretty ''fresh''. My oldest (and sweat-stained) rig is the old Jim Burke which I used for SP - and M85 prior to that.
Another example I didn't post is my Horseshoe leather rig I have used for BHP - that thru having been used only infrequently still looks almost like new!

Matt, I don't know if the picture of my cordovan Versa Max 2 on page one got lumped into your description or not. I just took the photo and the holster is worn 99 days out of 100 for the past 2+ years. Typically I carry 12-15 hours a day. I know that's not exactly an old holster, but it has seen a fair amount of use and it has held up really well.
I think a couple things contribute to how well it is wearing is that it is made out of horsehide and sharkskin both of which are very tough and then it also rides inside my pants and isn't subject to scrapeing or scratches.

Here's what a Blade Tech Kydex IWB looks like after about 10 years of daily carry, its on from 4:30am to 8:00pm, every day. The one on the right is the holster I use, the one on the left is a new one that I just got as a back up. You can see where the sweat guard snapped off on the one I use. Other than that, and replacing a strap now and then, and thats far less now that they have changed them, its still in great shape.

This is the last Galco Royal Guard I was using before I gave up on them. It's been in a box for about 10 years and its not looking to shabby. It actually looks better than I remember, then again, CRS is setting in. :) It was new and only used about a month before it was retired. The duct tape was an attempt to stop "sweat through" but wasnt much help. I wish I had a pic of it before it dried out. It looks pretty good right now. The main problem I have with leather is, it gets wet and never has a chance to dry out. The Colt in the top pics used to ride in the Royal Guard here. It was originally blued and had to be refinished because of rusting from being in the previous Royal Guard I had. I had it hard chromed and it helped a lot, but kydex is SO much nicer on your body and the gun doesnt get wet, except for where the grip contacts your body.

Matt,
I decided to take a more recent pic for you. Unfortunately it still might not be "broken in" enough for you. Remember not to confuse broken in with hard used. My stuff is broken in, but I take good care of it.
I'm currently using the slide because my primary carry holster broke (comp-tac) and I'm saving up for my VM II. The knife sheath on the Ken Onion knife looks new, because it is. I just made it a few weeks ago and haven't been able to carry it as much. The EDI I purposely turned clip out just to satisfy you desire to see things that are dinged up.

The IWB with the metal clip is used most often and it shows most ware. The others are used as needed or wanted.

My 10mm Glock 29 in a Blade-Tech IWB (left-hand). Having 10+1 rounds of hard-hitting 10mm in such a small package is a great comfort.

I'm embarrassed to post a pic on Oleg's site, particularly with so many other good photos. But here's the rig, with my wallet for comparison. P-3AT and 13 rounds of .380acp in a modified Uncle Mike's size 1.

Hi Dasmi,
After 200 rounds with no failures of any kind, I switched to the Kel Tec P3ATfor daily carry.
My son made me a hand boned Kydex holster that only adds .08 inches to the Kel Tec .75, for a total thickness of .83. That's stilll a total thickness less than most pistols alone. It just disappears, even in jeans.
He also gave me the Spyderco Harpy. He had three identical knives monogrammed, so both my sons and I carry the same Harpy. Nice boys.
Be Well,
Scarface
