Which lens is that, I can't quite identify it from the picture.

I'm resisting the urge to buy more glass. I have a 24mm, 50mm, (both Nikon) and a Phoenix 100mm Macro that actually delivers good results (passable macro, good portraits).

I had several Cowboy guns on my "must acquire" list, such as an Uberti-made Winchester 73 and a takedown Winchester 92.

Now I have a Nikon D70 digital SLR.

So I completely understand the "Japanese glass ate my guns" bit. And now I have two competing shopping lists for accessories.

Fella's;

Back, way back, in other times in other places, I bought camera equipment. Soooo, let's see, all Nikon, 28mm f3.5, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f2.0, 135mm f2.8, and 300mm f4. Then there's the bellows, the slide duplicator, the lights, the etc, etc, etc. All 35mm film.

Now it's all quite dated, but still works & takes excellent pictures. I can buy more bodies, lens's, etc. at very modest cost also. I don't post pics on the web though. When the techno-computer-weenies can make instructions & procedures as easy to understand as 35mm photography, then perhaps I'll do it.

However, my point is this; I don't believe I'd sacrifice my guns in order to upgrade or aquire more of the latest in photo equipment. Particularly in Kali. A person could wake up some morning with a new wonder camera & the headline of yer fav blogger would say: "Dude - no mo guns for you".

Photography, and the camera gear that goes with it, are my second favorite hobby after guns and shooting. I'm a Canon guy, myself, but you can't go wrong with fast Nikon glass.

Now get out there and take some pictures!

Justin,

You'll love it. Cameras are another money pit. I have way too many, including a bunch of medium format, but my D70 is used more than any of the others. Just superb, for the money.

The D-70 would be an even better camera if the ISO could be set lower than 200. I've been using one since they came out along with others.

Yeah that doesn't look like a Picannty rail (sp?) or a STANAG mount... some kinda new Euro-modular system or what?

I hear you Skunk... I haven't been able to buy in a long time, I bought the D70, 18-70 kit, and a 70-210 push/pull. Next is a 24-120VR, then the 70-210 f/2.8VR. Damn japanese!
