If you could choose one current production gun for free what would it be?

March 17, 2003, 07:22 AM
None of this (insert most expensive gun) then sell it to buy more. You have to keep it.

Remember, current production models only.

I'm curious to see what the choices would be.

A P7M8 for me ;)

March 17, 2003, 07:48 AM
I don't have a version on the 1911 Colt yet :( so I'd want one of those from Kimber or somebody.

March 17, 2003, 08:19 AM
I think someone is still making Ma Deuces (assuming, some way, some how, the ATF approved the NFA transfer)...

March 17, 2003, 08:21 AM
A new rollmark Colt 1991A1, in blue or stainless.

Brian Williams
March 17, 2003, 08:57 AM
Either a new m-16-a4 or one of these from Ballard rifles

A new Flattop from US firearms,Maybe.....?

or just a plain SAA like these....?hmmmmm

March 17, 2003, 09:28 AM
Been jonesing for one of these since I saw them at the SHOT show. :D

March 17, 2003, 09:28 AM
A Kimber Eclipse

March 17, 2003, 09:30 AM
Hmm... any gun or just civilian legal stuff?

Any gun: MP5SD - I have absolutely no use for it, but being able to shoot with no ear protection seems like a neat deal to me. :D

Civilian legal: Colt Match Target. Post AWB Sunset (fingers crossed)? M4.

March 17, 2003, 09:39 AM
A DSA FAL standard model w/full capacity mags.

March 17, 2003, 09:57 AM
Wilson CQB.

March 17, 2003, 10:01 AM
An M16.

March 17, 2003, 10:05 AM
The new S&W .50 revolver Quantrill

March 17, 2003, 10:11 AM

March 17, 2003, 10:15 AM
The Heckler & Koch Mk23 SOCOM .45 with about 10 full cap mags, the sound suppressor, and the LAM (laser aiming module).

To see one of these in action, please see the movie Tears of the Sun.

It is the top Special Forces and SEAL side arm.

March 17, 2003, 10:36 AM
Beorn; Not to be a bubble burster, but SOCOM isn't generally carried as a sidearm in the SEALs (from my knowledge). Too big, heavy, etc. P226 is the standard sidearm for SEALs.

March 17, 2003, 10:56 AM
Accuracy International AW50

March 17, 2003, 11:01 AM
IS an Ed Brown considered "Production"?:)

March 17, 2003, 11:13 AM
Well to be realistic about it, ie no full auto, militarty etc.

1st choice would be a nice Ed Brown Cobra Carry or Les Baer 1911. I would really like to own a really high end nice 1911.

2nd Choice would be a real Colt Single Action Army.

3rd Choice would be a Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357.

Totally unrealistic....

MP5SD2 or 3.

March 17, 2003, 11:15 AM
Accuracy International AW50
FN M240C

Any one of those would be nice but all of them would be better.:D

March 17, 2003, 11:37 AM
AI's are great guns,

But I'd support Ron Barret by choosing his M82A2 .50 SA.

March 17, 2003, 11:39 AM
G36, 91, 93 or SOCOM :D

J Miller
March 17, 2003, 12:06 PM
Well, since I've never been able to afford one:

I'd get a Colt SAA. Blue w/ ColorCase frame, 4 3/4" barrel and
one piece "REAL" ivory grips. Oh, ya in .45 Colt of course. :D

March 17, 2003, 12:22 PM
A Kolar 5 barrel set, 4 shotgun and one 338win mag, decked out with full coverage engraving, wood that would give you wood complete with hand cut fluer de lis checkering, presentation case and carry case, and all of that sort of stuff. A guess would be in the $100K+ range with the engraving and wood and extra barrels. Lead time would likely be 4-5 years too.:what:

If I got bored I could sell it and buy 150 nice guns to play with.

March 17, 2003, 12:32 PM
Sako 75 Varmint in 6.5x55 with a Schmidt & Bender 3-12x scope with illuminated reticle.

For handguns I would say a Rock River Limited Match but I'm pretty well set with 1911s... probably a P7

March 17, 2003, 12:41 PM
An electric mini-gun.

Mr. Dillon is my hero. Guns, planes, planes with guns.:D

March 17, 2003, 01:01 PM
I would have to concur and get a Barret.

March 17, 2003, 01:04 PM
Accuracy International .338 Lapua.

March 17, 2003, 01:10 PM
You said nothin' about CA legal or ATF-happee-happee, so a G36 :D

March 17, 2003, 01:15 PM
The new S&W .500Mag revolver! :D

March 17, 2003, 01:17 PM
Any one of the actual Smith & Wessons from a "Dirty Harry" film.

".....Well, do ya, Punk!?"

March 17, 2003, 02:35 PM
AR-15 chambered in 308
Wilson Combat 1911

March 17, 2003, 02:42 PM
I've always wanted a ridiculously overpowered Safari rifle; maybe something along the lines of a Beretta double rifle in one of the Nitro calibers.

Of course... for sheer absolute absurdity, I might want a gold plated Desert Eagle (in .50 AE of course) with the 10 barrel, a matching gold plated laser, fancy hardwood grips, with a silver plated inset medallion shaped like that chrome naked lady from the mud flaps. Oh yeah and a leopard skin shoulder rig for it.

March 17, 2003, 02:46 PM
A DSA Arms SA58 FAL in stainless steel with the walnut funiture.... makes me all warm inside thinking about it :D .

March 17, 2003, 02:49 PM
Give me a Barrett .50 , please.

March 17, 2003, 02:55 PM

Barrett M95 BMG

March 17, 2003, 05:42 PM
Decisions, decisions...

1. FN BHP 9mm NIB ( re username)
2. Kimber Custom .45 ACP ( to have and to hold, and shoot)
3. One each of everything you guys have wanted.:D

March 17, 2003, 05:56 PM
Not entirely sure. Either an M1A Loaded, FN-FAL, Bushmaster AR-15, Valtro, WWI or WWII era 1911, WWII era Inglis HP, Colt SAA, Uberti Winchester 92 clone (probably in .45lc) or one or two other options that I really want but won't really be able to afford for a couple years (yes, I know some aren't current production, but all are reasonably available and all have current production versions out there).

March 17, 2003, 06:09 PM
H&K P7M8 for me also. I would never pay the price for one but if it were free, thats what I'd choose.

March 17, 2003, 06:12 PM
50 bmg Windrunner:

March 17, 2003, 08:03 PM
I'd likely opt for a Wilson Combat CQB in black. Today at least.

Marko Kloos
March 17, 2003, 08:12 PM
I'd like either a P7M8 with factory night sights, or a DSA G1 FAL.

(They don't make the HK91 anymore, but if they did, it would take the place of the FAL.)

March 17, 2003, 08:18 PM
The only gun I want but just can't afford is a single shot bullpup 50 BMG with a 36" barrel like the one used in the movie "Tremors2."

I think they are made by Barrett aren't they? I believe they are around 2500 bucks.

Ah found a pic:

March 17, 2003, 08:20 PM
I'd take a H&K G36K with a spare "C" model barrel ( and the $900 barrel wrench tool) so I can swap the look of the gun at a moments notice.

Glock18. ;)

March 17, 2003, 08:20 PM
A Barrett Model 82A1 rifle.

March 17, 2003, 08:34 PM
Tricked out Korth. Don't really want one, but I wouldn't mind somebody giving me one.

March 17, 2003, 08:38 PM
Blackhawk beat me to it.

Korth revolver - combat model 4" bbl, interchangable cylinder, bright blue, no engraving.

March 17, 2003, 09:36 PM
M1A, so my SAR-48 wouldn't be so lonely. Oh, and another couple thousand rounds of .308 Match.

March 17, 2003, 09:42 PM
I always wondered how one of these would shoot. Overpriced yea, but hey if you're gonna give me one for free...

Would I be pushing my luck for some free ammo too? ;)

March 17, 2003, 10:37 PM
Something suppressed and full-auto

March 17, 2003, 10:38 PM
Current production, huh?

OK, hows about a M240G?

Or an M4orgery with all the trimmings (SIR, C-MORE, Surefire M900, ITT PNVS-17, laser pointer, Redi-Mag)

March 17, 2003, 10:57 PM
Iron Brigade Armory "Tactical Rifle" M-40 - Chambered in 300 Winchester Mag.

Scope = Ziess - Armored. - Rings and base supplied by IBA.

March 17, 2003, 11:06 PM
A Barrett, of course!

March 17, 2003, 11:14 PM

I'm currently nursing a jones for the S&W 945.

FN P90, please.

Sean Smith
March 17, 2003, 11:16 PM
A nice Browning HighPower, I think. Or maybe an STI Trojan 6.0 longslide in .40 S&W, so I can have it converted to 10mm Auto.

945? Hmmm. Well, it IS less tacky than the S&W1911. Too bad it has such a cheesey-looking trigger.

March 17, 2003, 11:37 PM
Well, Since I have almost all the guns I want I guess I have to go to variations.

# 1- Rem. 870 Marine Magnum

# 2- 475 Wildey Magnum that actually shoots!!!!!!!

Gordy Wesen
March 18, 2003, 03:40 AM
I'd be good to go with DMK's PSG1.

What did you want from life Wyatt?
All I ever wanted was a normal life Doc.
There's no such thing as a normal life, there's just life.

March 18, 2003, 03:47 AM
Well it's nice to dream, Barrett 50 semi auto (sigh):)

March 18, 2003, 04:44 AM
NFA: German MG3

non-NFA: Knights Stoner SR-25 MarkII Mod 0 Navy Rifle System

March 18, 2003, 05:04 AM
armalite ar-50

March 18, 2003, 05:35 AM
A match grade AR15 or an Ed Brown Kobra Carry.
Or maybe, just maybe.... a competition race gun built by Highpoint. :scrutiny:

March 18, 2003, 09:37 AM
hk p7m8 or mp5n with gadgets

March 18, 2003, 07:25 PM
P7M8 - had a PSP and loved it, had to sell it to finance other things.

But if it were on a table next to an MP5SD, I'd take the MP5 in a heartbeat.

March 18, 2003, 11:32 PM
John Martz Luger .45 ACP. $10,000 if I recall correctly. But not to buy & sell but just to send some big and fat down the barrel of a P.08! Yoooowzah!

March 18, 2003, 11:43 PM
Any one of these (http://www.hollandandholland.com/gunrooms/newyork/newguns/index.htm)

Though, after Ronnie Barrett's letter to the LAPD, I'd take a M82A1 as a consolation prize. :D

March 19, 2003, 12:08 AM
I would like to have a Bushmaster ,( not firm on model, yet), or a M1A, ( need a sack full of mags). I'm not picky...either will do just fine for me, thanks.

March 19, 2003, 12:12 AM
whichever AR-10 variant is most accurate at long range and a boatload of 20 round mags!

March 19, 2003, 12:26 AM
Shiloh Sharps No 1 Sporter: 45-70, 30" heavy half octagon barrel, hartford collar, checkered pistol grip and forend, the Bone and charcoal pack Hardened finish, extra fancy grade wood, and the full kit of the top of the line, MVA Soule tang and spirit level globe front sight....

yeah i think i'd take a near $3,000 rifle for free.... :D

barring that

a true and proper Semi-Auto M-16A1 clone made by someone OTHER than Fulton Armory!! (actually since my WIFE is the one that really wants this one can i have both??!!!??? :D :D )

March 19, 2003, 01:41 AM
Wilson Combat CQB OD Green thank you :D

March 19, 2003, 01:47 AM
Current production. Drat.

Otherwise, I'd say "D" model BAR.

Reckon I'd have Kenny Jarrett make me up a nice li'l piece, maybe in .35 Whelen, or maybe I'd get an Ed Brown Denali in 7mm Rem Mag.

March 19, 2003, 02:00 AM
I suppose the idea is to upgrade one's collection, huh?

Well then... handgun? A Clerk Techinicorp .32 revolver, chromed, with the pearlescent plastic grips. If it just has to be a semi-auto, then a Raven .25 ...chromed, with pearlescent plastic grips.

Rifle/shotgun? An High Standard "Topper" with both a .30-30 and a 12 gauge barrel.

Yeah.... for ME, that oughtta be an across-the-board significant upgrade to my battery...:D :D ;)

March 19, 2003, 02:22 AM
Since you said "current production" I'll say M1A Loaded.
Otherwise, an M1 Garand.

Jim March
March 19, 2003, 03:23 AM

There we go. Freedom Arms model 97, 357maggie with second cylinder in 38Spl...this one is perfect, with a 4" octagonal barrel and adjustable sights. Accuracy with these is just ungodly. The 38Spl cylinder is so you can have chambers that really match each of the two calibers.

The 22LR version has been recorded as having MOA accuracy. 15/16ths inch group at 100 yards.

March 19, 2003, 03:34 AM
NFA: M240B
non-NFA: M82A1

March 19, 2003, 04:10 AM
DSA stg 58 , or a korth .357 revolver , or a Coonan CAdet ( ARE we out there DAN???)
