Model 29 Finish

I bought a really great model 29 with a 4 inch barrel the other day...The only thing that I do not really like is that it is nickel plated...Can this be removed and then blued or would that cost a small fortune to do.

Removing the nickel would probably cost more then it was worth. It has to be stripped using a reverse plating system. Then the stripped parts have to be polished and blued. You would be better of swapping or selling that revolver and then using the proceeds to by another blued one.

Please don't ruin a fine gun like that. Smith didn't make that many nickled revolvers so I'm sure someone would trade you for a blued one.
