Hi guys,
I am thinking about getting into .22LR shooting (don't have any .22 yet, it's a shame), and I need your expert advice!
For several reasons, I really want to build myself a takedown customized 10/22, and keep the price reasonable (say around 500).
The only way to go is the Packer stock:

it looks as just what I want in pictures but I haven't seen any reviews on it yet... If you have had any experience with it, please let me know. Are there any potential problems with it (too much wear on receiver-barrel mating surfaces, or REALLY bad for accuracy)?
Also, I can get a stainless 10/22 and just replace the stock, or get the cheapest basic 10/22 (or just an action if possible) and get a Packer package (stock and Butler Creek carbon fibre barrel, standard profile). I have seen rather negative feedback about these BC barrels, but what I would like to know is are they so bad compared to tagret bull barrels, or even compared to a standard stainless barrel?
I would appreciate any comments or advice on alternative approaches to this project.
Thank you.
Alex.
