What's in your Range Bag

I’m new to this forum, so this may have been covered before, but as I’ve started to collect more guns and shoot more often, I’ve also found an increase in the number of items going to the range with me.
So I was wondering what you are carrying in your range bag other than your guns and ammunition.

About 18 hearing protection holder clippys, and I still can never seem to find one when I need it. A Ksetrel 4000 weather station so I can measure the heat and humidity and know precisely how miserable it is. A glasses cleaning cloth that a student used to wipe donwn a gun, so now I can keep my glasses well-lubed. 3 left earplugs. Multiple dead batteries and blown surefire bulbs. A gazillion dried up sharpies.

I shoot smallbore matches, so it's going to be a lot more than anyone else here.
I have, a box of sights (3 rear sights, all anschutz universal, 2 20 click, and 1 10 click, an adjustable iris front sight by centra), a box of screws (a bunch of different sizes of metric screws, some riser blocks, an air rifle butt plate), another box of screws and tools (holds 4 75 gram weights for my 2013, 7 steel weights for my air rifle, a steel butt plate rod (12 mm anschutz), metric allen wrenches from 1.5 mm to 4 (more than one in the same size in some cases), the soft link system pieces for my 9003 air rifle (rubber pieces that go between the stock and the barreled action), a front sight globe (m18 anschutz), 10 1" diameter, 1/2" height brass bar stock that I haven't drilled out for weights yet, 2 rear sight riser blocks by centra, and a couple more odds and ends), a pair of kusterman shooting boots (monoco), kurt thune pants and jacket, bsa 50mm spotting scope in its box, bsa platinum target scope (6-24x44mm), a kneeling roll, 3 21" scope rods, an esp offhand stand, a prone mat, a stabilizer rod for prone, an anschutz palm rest, mouche (cool) shooting underwear (top and bottom), weights from my old hammerli air rifle, custom ear plugs, a metric wrench set, and an english wrench set.
That's all I think, sans some of the trash (bits of ammo boxes etc) that has gotten in there.

I hope my range bag doesn't say too much about my personality, because it's a bit scary in there:
Now that it's summer in the Sonoran desert, a rag so I can wipe the sweat off of my rifle stock so that I can have a cheek weld rather than a cheek Slip 'n Slide.
A stapler for attaching targets to the target frame.
Staples, because the dumb stapler doesn't work right without them.
A sharpie for writing on targets when I'm feeling impressed with myself.
A few used targets I saved because I was impressed with myself, but when I unroll them I can't figure out why I was so impressed.
Enough ammo to make a pack mule labor under the weight.
Empty ammo boxes that I hope will refill themselves (with lightweight rounds, please) when I'm not looking.
My ears. My nephew's ears.
Empty baggies for collecting brass.
Baggies full of collected brass that need to grow legs and walk over to my reloading bench.
Orange peel 'n stick target dots (aim small, miss small).
Lots of empty wax paper backings that used to have orange peel 'n stick target dots on them.
Lots of empty packages that used to contain orange peel 'n stick target dots.
An empty water bottle from 12 trips ago.
Some 38 special rounds that fell out of a decomposing ammo box last year and have been rolling around in there ever since.

* Electronic muffs.
* Behind-the-head muffs.
* Empty magazines.
* Full magazines.
* About 70 SKS stripper clips.
* A 7.62 NATO stripper clip with 3 .30-06 rounds on it.
* Two Olympic ammo with 40 USGI .30-06 AP rounds that I said I'd reload for a friend (pull the bullet, dump the case, primer, and powder, reload into new case with modern powder and primer).
* Plastic empty-chamber flag.
* Shoot-N-C dots.
* Used wax paper that S-N-C dots came on.
* A Metric Buttload (not to be confused with the Imperial Ass-Ton) of mixed .30-06 brass loose in the bag and needing to be tumbled.
* Plastic ammo boxes for my higher-grade reloads that all use the same brand/lot brass, etc. Some loaded rounds, some already-fired casings.
* Random 9mm casings that fell in there when I was pistol shooting and find their way into random crevices, from which they emerge later to taunt me.

3 sets of ear plugs, spotting scope, a beanie to keep hair off my face in case of wind (I hate caps, so even the beanie rarely gets used), 2 rolls of tape, empty magazines, dummy rounds, a trash bag, a brass bag, various tools (allen wrenches, center punch, torx, velcro straps, leatherman, spare parts, etc), red and black markers and 3 pistol sleeves that double as mats (which are usually occupied by pistols when at the range).

heypete, Sounds like we have the same range bag and the same ability to misassemble weapons. I love it! It'd be fun to go shooting with you. On the other hand, maybe it's not such a good idea to put both of us on the same shooting bench (for the safety of others, don't ya know) ;)

a pack of Lucky Strikes You and lucky strikes :) And why was I not told of these binoculars? I've been using that gigantic russian scope of yours for spotting. And is that the same bottle of RC that was in there last time? I only ask because we could probably start a bioweapons lab with it.
Mine contains a basic cleaning kit. I carry around Hoppes, a boresnake, CLP, a toothbrush, and a rag. There are a few assorted ammo boxes, mostly for firearms I actually own. I have a receiver cover for an SKS. I don't own an SKS. I never have. I'm not really sure how it got there. There's a choke tube tool, a sight rail that I've been swearing I'm going to mount for the last decade or so, and a box of orange foamies. For some reason I also have a bunch of these little target dealies that were printed on the inside of a box of Remmington .22. I have never actually used them, but I've got a whole bunch.
Oh, and brass... lots and lots of brass. Never leave your range bag open next to you when the guy in the next lane is shooting a Mini-14. Actually, he might have been ten lanes down. I also have a single casing of .444 Marlin. I have never owned, nor have I known anyone who owned a .444 Marlin.

Wayne,
The next time you're in the SF Bay Area ( :barf: ), let me know and I'll show you a few of the ranges around here.
I hopefully will be visiting Arizona in the near future, so it'd be nice to meet people there to go shooting with.

What everyone else said, along with a bottle of windex and a stack of paper plates. The plates make good (cheap) targets and the windex cleans up after corrosive ammo is used.

Well Doc... ya never know :D
I use them to keep dust and other foreign matter out of the barrel of my rifles when it's dusty or misting rain. The outside is protected with Corrosion X, but after a few rounds I suspect the bore protectant has burned/worn off.
I heard about this from an older shooting buddy of mine. At first I thought he was nuts, but after running a patch down the barrel of a 30 cal bolt gun when the wind was up on a dusty day made a believer out of me. Some fouling (as expected) but also a fine powder like dust the same color as the sugar sand on the range.
Of course, I buy 'Magnums' :D
