News Frash from Europa.
HK just cranked out a P2000 Subcompact. Standing by for more....
Pulled this from HKPRO, from our resident Hungarian, Gunhead.
No word on whether it will cost as much as a P7M8 or if it'll take the same mags as the P2000.

Skunk, Gunhead stated...
The pistol is not finished, there is no exact production date..
It's not even finished yet.. So, should we assume that it won't be here until late '03/ early '04 ??!!:(

I thought I read that the plan is for the subcompact to be able to take the larger frame's magazines...
Don't think it would be vice-versa because of the abbreviated grip... makes me think of G26/27 magazines in a G19/23 frame.

Patience! It'll be here soon enough Tactibilly :D Besides, you won't be able to buy one until you're out of occupied territory anyway ;)

The subcompact version might still be on the drawing boards, but I expect to start seeing them in CA by the end of the year.

Skunk, thanks for the heads up. I have been waiting for this for a long time, I really thought they would have done it alot sooner, but alas!

They have a bunch of them sitting in crates in Virginia. So why aren't they selling them? Letting them sit in crates is a complete waste of money.

it is rumored that they are waiting for some sort of ATF approval on the magazines.
most everything with HK takes a long time.

The rumor going around is that the BATF wanted HK to redesign the 10 round magazines. They felt that they could be modified to easily to accept more than 10 rounds ..
Mind you that it's just a rumor. ;)

IF they change the current p99, i hope the only thing they change is the slide release and accessory rail. NOT the guard..........yuck!
