Bought my first scatter gun

I picked up an 870 Wingmaster this past weekend. It is used in excellent condition. It is a 2 3/4" chambered gun with a vent rib barrel. The serial number is T5342xxV. Can anyone out there tell me when this gun was manufactured?
I'm really happy with this purchase. I picked it up at an auction for $230. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me and I have been looking for a shotgun for a little while now. The action is so slick. I can't wait to get out a do some blasting with it.
Also, will dryfiring damage this gun?

I picked up a used 870 Wingmaster in 20ga a couple weeks ago. If you contact Remington through their website they can tell you roughly when yours was produced. Mine came back with a reply of " ..In or around 1961..." :D

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Hope you are enjoying your 870. I'm hoping for some nice weather this weekend to try mine against some clays.

Dry fire away, not gonna hurt a thing unless psychopathically dry fired 1000 times a day for several years.

Kel, congrats, that's a decent price on a great shotgun. Dunno when it weas made, but the V Suffix shows it's a 2 3/4" 12 gauge. Stick to that ammo.
In all these years of using 870s, I've seen TWO broken firing pins. Both happened during extremely cold weather when dry fired. Both shotguns were well worn with a good bit of shooting behind them.
Neither was mine. I consider dry firing 870s a very low risk activity.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I called Remington to find out the manufacture date. They said on or around 1976. Looks like I've got myself a Bicentennial baby.
I was hoping dryfiring was okay. Because I did it already.:D I wanted to make sure it was functioning properly.
