Is this FLGR modified?

I have a quick question. I am not a gunsmith, but I have had/purchased several Wilson flgr's over the years (kind of a love/hate thing). Anyway, I received one that's supposed to be a Wilson for a Commander. I have had at least two of those and this one does not like like the others. Attached is a pic. It looks like the area that protrudes from the rear of the flgr (that has always been fully 360 round) has been modified, dremeled into a semi-circle and then filed to a 45 angle. Is it me or is this the way they come. I could use some help!!! Thanks

Howdy Trapper,
Yep....That's a modification usually seen on FLGRs that go in Commanders.
Due to the flange bein' almost flush with the front of the lower barrel lug, the
angle is there to provide a little extra clearance for the link to rotate when the barrel links down. If everything is correctly in-spec, it's not really necessary, but when tolerances stack up in the wrong direction a little...which does happen sometimes...it keeps the guide rod flange from contacting the link as the barrel unlocks and drops.

Thanks Tuner! Just more proof that not only are the people on this forum knowledgeable, they are also personable too!!!

It looks like it's also had that top-secret 'extra blurry' mod done, too.
:D :D :D
