Which Glock has the worst recoil?

Meaning, either the "snappiest" or the one that has recoil that's hard to recover from for a followup shot? I would assume it'd be one of the smaller .40 calibers.

I vote for the 36. my brother has one and I hate to shoot it. It is the ONLY handgun I have ever shot that really bothered me. After a few shots, my hand shakes and my little finger is being pinched by the gap between the mag and grip and that damm trigger is making my index finger sore, I don't like it.

That would be the Glock 29 with full-house 10mm loads, zesty stuff like Hornady or Georgia Arms Shear Power Plus.

Like Lendringser said, the G29 with full power loads. The full size G20 10mm is pretty zippy too.;)

Agree with the G20/29 posters.......however I'd rather take their beating over the .357S Glocks.

I can only describe the Glock 33's recoil as "stinging", like when you snap a wooden ruler in half. It hurts after a while. But I think it has more to do with the 357SIG round than the fact that it's a Glock.

As a defense gun, though, it doesn't really matter. You're not gonna put a box of ammo into the BG, are you?

I've never tried a .357 Sig Glock.

But I HAVE tried 10mm, 9mm, .40 and .45 Glocks. I own Glocks in .45 and 9mm.

IMO, the .40 Glocks, especially the G27 and G23 have the worst subjective recoil. I was surprised, because the 10mm is a more powerful round than all the above and SHOULD recoil a lot more. It must be the wider grip size on the G20 that mellows the "subjective feel" of the recoil. The G21 which has the same wide grip in .45 ACP is extremely mild in recoil. 9mm Glocks are snappy, but low in recoil IMO. The two .40 models I mentioned for ME are both snappy and sharp.

If I ever get a Glock in a caliber other than 9mm or .45 ACP it will be in 10 mm. I really liked the G20, it recoils so mildly for a round that approaches .41 magnum ballistics. I'm really not interested in .40 Glocks, I'm sure they work great for most, but they just don't work for me.

The G23 doesn't bother me at all with defensive loads. My wife can shoot it just fine too. The G20 with real handloaded 10mm ammo will wake you up in the morning and the G29 should be worse... or better, depending on if you like recoil or not.

The Glock 33 (357 SIG) I shot definately had more flip to it than my G23 but I would still call it controlable. G36 wasn't too bad, thought about buying one but am going with a Kahr P9 Covert instead. It's stout, but entirely managable.

Come to think about it, Glocks in general seem like the have pretty light recoil. None that I've shot had recoil that would stop me from carrying one. The G33 and the G29 would both probably stop someone from doing something bad just from the blast, esp in an enclosed area and the G33 is really fun to shoot at night... Think itty-bitty Molotov cocktail.

My G20 doesn't bother me at all.
I would assume the pocket size 357SIG would prolly have the most recoil. (Highest operating pressure/lowest weight.)

Well, as best as we could figure, it was a bad ammo thing. Thankfully, Glock covered the repairs :) as a warranty issue. After I got it back, it never felt the same in my hands, so I traded it for another USP :D

The Glock 29 with hot loads is a snappy little beast.
Oh, how I love that gun. :D
