Any good news from folks in MT, WY, NH, UT, or any of the other states which have been considering Vermont-style (or Alaska-style) carry?

I hate to bring up a generic "update" question thread, but the issue seems to have quieted down for the time being. Thanks for any updates on this positive trend. -MV

Most of the states that usually would consider such legislation are part time legislatures, and have already adjourned.

It was proposed in Colorado, but Denver made it abundantly clear it would get its panties in a serious knot and have a hissing fit to end all hissing fits.

It was shot down in Arizona after a journalist wrote that it would allow felons to carry "machine guns and sawed-off shotguns in schools." When the uninformed bill sponsor (a legislative mule who didn't understand the bill that was handed to him) was unable to address the false charges, he feigned ignorance and said he would withdraw the bill (why he didn't rewrite it is a mystery...save for the fact of his under-understanding of the bill in the first place.)

The "journalist" is Howard Fisher of Capitol News Service. Actually, he *is* Capitol News Service. Owner and sole employee, as far as anyone knows.

He was taken to task by the East Valley Tribune where he admitted, quite proudly, that the machinegun-grenade-shotgun line was designed to capture the readers' attention. The next time I see him covering a gun story, I'll call him a propagandist to his face and mention his grenade-line as I give him the brush-off.
