What is the best way to carry in the summer time without being noticed with a fullsize beretta. Thanks

thanks mrhuckins, that started my dad with a laugh.
LMC, might want to consider a fanny pack.

SD, glad you enjoyed it. I try to be funny, but a lot of people on THR just don't appreciate my humor. But poo on them :p

I was only half joking however. I live in Kansas, and we have no conseal carry laws here, so unfortunatly, the only time I carry is in my house. I wish I had some real input for this gentelman. :(

I'll go with fanny pack, my friend just bought one for his Glock. He likes it..

Wear a lot of clothes or choose a smaller pistol. I carried a pocket pistol every day in Tennessee last summer -- couldn't have concealed anything larger without having a heat stroke.

I have never considered a grown man wearing a fanny pack to be not noticable. To me it screams gun.

Milt Sparks VM-II. (Or Brommeland Max-Con V, from what I hear, although I only have experience with the VM-II. It hides a Colt Government model under a t-shirt without issue)

IWB with one of these:

Hawaiian shirts.
Long, worn untucked, fabric design makes printing less noticable, and light weight.

Or, the Mexican guyabarra shirt, also large, made to wear untucked, usually not in loud colors, and designed to be worn in a hot climate. Get an IWB rig with sweat shield built in too, or spend hours scrubbing rust.

You may want to consider a jacket or overcoat.

Guayaberas are normally made in lightweight, translucent materials and are nearly transparent.

It would depend on your size and build. A large person could do it with very little trouble. A small thin person may have difficult time concealing a full sized, double stack, service pistol.

So? As long as it's in the bag, it's concealed. Who cares what people think?

The Beretta 92/96 is right at the edge of the envelope for me to successfully conceal in warm weather. I use an IWB rig (Don Hume's 'PCCH' or Safariland Model 027 seem to be comfy enough, and don't collapse too much for a safe re-holster when I practice at the range.)

As far as hiding the Pasta Pistoles, any square-tailed button down shirt seems to do, or a lightweight sportscoat (seersucker perhaps, think Ben Matlock in Hotlanta!) for dressier times. Btw there are guayabera shirts in dark colors if you hunt for them, and anything with a pattern, Hawaiian or not, helps a great deal with hiding a firearm.

Dude,

A fanny pack? I mean...cmon. This isn't 1980-whatever. We don't want to cramp the mans style!

I'd just go with a backholster (You know, the one that goes near the small of your back?) If you're wearing a tucked in shirt, you might want to consider something CD player-esque?

I'd sooner wear a chastity belt, than a fanny pack. But this is just me.

The lightweight summery button up shirt works really well. I dont do fanny packs I think it screams concealed carry. Also getting a smaller gun for pocket carry in the summer is good its better to have a gun thats easy to carry than one you might leave home because its to bulky.

Carry a Keltec .380 instead.

A friend of mine (departed from this life to live a better one with Him - may God be with him) used to carry his full-size 1911 or Beretta 96 using a IWB with a Hawaiian shirt, like the other poster stated.

I carry a mid-sized (about the size of a Glock 30) .45 using a pancake-style holster with thumbreak OWB with the same kind of shirt. Just make sure they're nice and big.

If I absolutely have to wear a t-shirt and shorts, then it's the .38 snubbie for me.

Good luck. Best bet would be to try different methods, and pick the one that works best for you, as I've found it tends to be an individual thing (comfort of physical being vs. comfort of mind).

I'll be finding out soon as well. I carry an SP101 for my primary, but have a Beretta 96FS and CZ97B in my carry rotation as well. I figure the SP will still be primary during the summer, that's mainly why I bought it, but even then, on super hot days, my Beretta 21 .22 will probably be the only thing small enough to conceal well... :(

Even though I think they scream CCW as well, I am looking at lightwieght jackets, 5.11 vests, photog vests etc for summer carry. Maybe even a smart carry. But....how fast are those? When I've seen them demonstrated, it looks a bit....obscene! Undoing your belt, reaching into your pants. I'd be worried about getting indecent exposure charges!
