Bonker, I wouldn't give up on em that easy. Look the specimen over really well with a fine toothed comb. It kinda seems to be the luck of the draw. My total titanium 731 is super accurate, but could benefit by a trigger job. They had another 731UL which had a much better trigger, but it was too shiny for my tastes, so I got the shadow gray all titanium with a crappy trigger. Good luck.

I bought my first one last summer, a Model 850 Titanium CIA. All my other revolvers are S&W. It had to immediately go back to Taurus to fix a problem but I've been pleased with it since. The trigger is surprisingly smooth and light.

ok thanks! :)
It's mainly for my wife. She wants this one:

I think Taurus has the best model selection going. I really like their stuff so it would be a shame if quality or customer support weren't great. They'll never replace my trusty GP-100 but they do have many more things I "need" :)

A friend of mine has had a Taurus Titanium Tracker .357 for a few years. He's shot it quite a bit and likes it very much. I like it too. He hasn't had any problems with it.

I have had great success with taurus firearms, although I havent purchased any revolvers yet.
I'm thinking of the 41 magnum in total titanium.
If you do ever need warranty work,be sure to have your range or dealer send it in,they get much faster service than the owner does.
just a heads up.

My experience with a 4" Ti Tracker in 357 Magnum was not so good.
Titanium cylinder started showing hairline fractures after about 200 rounds of factory ammo. Sent the gun back to Taurus and it took almost 8 WEEKS to get a replacement gun. And then, only after I called them incesently and made a pest of myself.
Maybe an anomoly? I don't know. But a fractured cylinder is no small issue and nobody at Taurus seemed to excited about it.
I immediately traded the replacement to my dealer for something else.
Just one man's experience.

I don't think I'd want my wife to carry one. At times I have carried a gun that wasn't 100% reliable because it was all I had at the time. I would feel horrible to give an unreliable gun to someone else. The two Taurus Ti guns that I have owned or handled extensively were awful. Both showed no signs of problems until being fired. Barrel/cylinder gap was too tight on both, both would bind when firing hot ammo or when dirty. I won't go that route again.
BTW, the two that I've dealt with were the .357 Mag and the .45 Colt models.

I didn't know that the Ti was quite that light. Anyway, My wife has used a Total Ti 85 as her carry weapon for 3+ years. It's a blue one like in your picture, but it has rubber grips. I keep a close eye on it but there hasn't been a hint of a problem yet. She does shoot non +P rounds. (Usually) I think it's kinda the "luck of the draw" with the titanium models. Some have no problems ~EVER! Some have problems, ~right out of the box.
I own a 731UL. It seems a little nicer than the Total Ti models. Nicer finish and nicer trigger.

Hi,
I bought my wife the matte spectrum blue (she says its "cute") a couple of months ago. It's the TI85 or whatever. Shoots great and have had no problems with it. Actually surprised me with the groups that it will shoot. So far, we both really like it. GS

I'm thinking of the 41 magnum in total titanium.
I had one. It developed a timing problem after about 200 rounds. I traded it. Also, it was way too loud to use in most situations. Maybe 170gr. loads would have been quieter, but magnum snubbies lose so much energy anyways with the short barrel and porting that the Ti's have that it's just not worth it. I'm looking with feigned interest at the 9mm revolvers Taurus will be releasing this summer, but they are ported arg! I think the .45LC with decently powered factory ammo is probably the best choice for an ultralite snubby along with .357 or 9mm.

I own 5 Taurus wheel guns. All are M85, except for the stainless 357 605 on the first row. A aluminum Ultralite M85 is on the first row as well with a Titanium M85 on the last row. All look great, and have performed perfectly.
