Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I just had to share my newfound joy in having purchased yesterday a pristine pre-70 series Colt Government Model in 98% condition. Ah, the mirror polish of the flats, the crisp 4 lb. trigger with no mechanical encumbrances, the snicker-snack of the lugs locking and unlocking. Bliss!

After much soul-searching and seemingly endless purchases, I believe I have finally found the pistol that makes me happier than any other. #332XXX-C.

Pics will follow, if I can get my scanner working properly.

Anybody else like 1911's around here? :)

Hard to beat a pre-70 Series Colt Government Model. No corners cut on the metals used. Qualitiy control was up where it was supposed to be. Even the markings looked cooler. What's not to like?

Yeap,I have one of them same guns here. Bought it about two years ago. Guy offered to sell me a 45,would I be interested? Well as you can imagine by my handle I said yes,what kind of 45? can you bring it by to look at?
He returned the next day,Colt box,Colt papers in the box,no sign of brass ever being loaded in the mag,absolutely pristine gun,Not a sign of it even being handled. Just a safe queen from a good old boy. Says I "How Much?"
"$500.00"
"ok"
Being a very old hand at this I reach back and pull some old franklins from the recesses of my wallet and we trade.
I am happy,he is happy.
Well,I am REAL HAPPY once he is gone :D
Bought a Colt 38 Super at a yard sale,another old gent knowing it was time he sold it or it was out of his hands after he was gone. No Box this time,but very nice shooter. 5 Colt mags,400rds Peters Ammo,2 custom holsters and a nice talk with the gent. Also $500.00 and again,,, :D
4 digit serial no# on the Super.
