Do Kimbers typically come with 1 mag or 2 when purchased new?
Thanks

Mine are a number of years old, but they each came with one mag.

My TLEII, almost 2 years old came with one mag. My Cadillac of the line, an Eclipse 10mm, purchased 2 months ago, came with one mag. Poor quality mags at that. Only time my TLE malfunctioned was with the factory mag. Luckily I have several Colts and a couple of Para single-stacks, so I have plenty of Wilson spares around. Had a bit of a problem finding 10mm mags though.

Thanks. First time purchase from this shop and for some reason I thought they came with 2. Glad to know they weren't holding out on me.

Yep, mine were poor quality mags, too. The best thing to do with the Kimber mags, is to throw them at the neighbor's cat and use Wilson, CMC or Metalform mags.
Or - take a dremel tool and engrave "HK" on the Kimber mags and sell them online for $50 each...
Or - engrave "P7M13" on the side and sell them online for $100 each...
Or - engrave "Valmet" on the side and sell them online for $200 each...
Or - engrave "Raven" or "Bryco" on the side, give them away, thereby preventing someone from actually being able to fire those pistols...

+1 on the suggestion to use Wilson mags. You'd be amazed how many "unreliable" 1911s I've seen that start feeding perfectly from changing to better magazines.
Another note: the Kimber factory mags (I think they're actually McCormicks) have a known issue of scratching and gouging up the insides of aluminum frames. Apparently, the metal follower is too sharp on the edges.

My Classic Royal came with one magazine. But I never really used the them, I use the Powermags instead.
The stock Kimber maagzines we're all that great.

All of my Kimbers have been shipped with only one mag. As a side note though, I find that the Mag bodies are fine. I have used the Kimber mags with great success by simply swapping out the springs and followers with Wilson springs and followers. Since doing so all of the Kimber mags have functioned 100%. Just my $0.02

I've owned four Kimbers, they all came with just one magazine. OTOH, they have all functioned perfectly with that mag, though I added Wilsons or Mec-gars to round things out for carry or range work.

My Kimber Custom Defender II came with one mag. It has worked perfectly. My carry mags are Chip McCormick Power Mags. Range mags are anything I can get.

OK, so one mag it is, and of some questionable quality at that. Thanks for the replies. Gotta get to the range this week!

My Gold Cup Ten II uses hi-cap/thicker mags and they're a pain to find.
However, when I bought my Kimber the store did have a spare in stock that I bought.
I have no idea if that spare is a Kimber (no names are on the mag) but, at any rate, I must be a lucky one because both generic mags work fine in mine.
I shudder to think what Wilson would charge for a double stack hi-cap if they sold them? :what:

ddj - That's interesting. I didn't know the Wilson followers would fit properly in the Kimber mags. I'll have to try it - that would make some practice mags for me.
Navajo - None of my Kimber mags had any markings, either.
