Is there an "easy" way to get affiliated with CMP?

I want to buy some CMP stuff (guns and some Lake City 7.62 ammo) but I can't get in contact with any clubs in my area. Is there any other way? Is there any way to become a "virtual member" of a club farther away from me? Most of my shooting is just recreational blasting done out in the sticks at some little podunk range. I am a veteran if that could possibly help.
I don't want to join a lousy air rifle club just so I can get some ammo and a Garand.
Is there any other way?

Does your state have a local rifle association? They are sometimes CMP affiliated 'clubs'. That's the only reason I joined the Texas State Rifle Association. :o

Fred who sells M14 stocks and marksmanship manuals, and other stuff, through ads in Shotgun News has a rifle club in Ramseur, N.C., that is CMP affiliated. Associate memberships are $20.

If you have a C&R license, that works too.

Check out the CMP website for more ideas.

C&R works for the marksmanship requirement, but not the club affiliation.

The Garand Collectors Association woud be your best bet.

If you are a veteran, I believe membership in the VFW qualifies.
