The one you always see in the movies is from Charter Arms.
Taurus makes quite a few 44 special snubs:

It's not there anymore, but Smith and Wesson had a 2inch N-frame up on their Performance Center website.
Ouch.

OOPS! My bad! I thought he said 44 special snubby.
In 44 mag I have no idea. Why the hell would you want one in magnum unless you just like making the biggest possible fireball of wasted burning powder? :)
The only production 44 mag snubs that I am aware of were government issure pieces.
Back in the early 1970s, the last time that air marshals were in routine use on domestic flights, they were often armed with .44 magnum snub-nosed revolvers. The revolvers often carried “prefragmented” ammunition, such as the Glaser round.

A 3" S&W 629 is a nice revolver. If you reload you can use a faster powder and try for a load at about 1000FPS. Comfortable, controllable and with 200-240 gr bullets, it's a very good defense load. Check out Pro-Load's .44Mag Tactical Lite -- 200 gr Gold Dot at 1050FPS.

Understand that I don't recommend this, but to each his own ...
If you want a "snub" 44 Magnum you'll probably have to convert some revolver with a longer one. This could cause some problems with the cylinder lock-up (S&W) and the length of the ejector rod. Any way I look at it, it would be expensive.
If I was looking to make a "fun-gun" (big boom and flash - all of that) I'd start with a Ruger or some other brand of Single Action, cut the barrel to what ever length I wanted, and remount the front sight. You could cut down the ejector assembly, or use a "Sheriff Model" configuration. I have fired a Ruger Bisley that was so modified and can say it will get you're attention.

Years ago, I knew a fellow with a Smith & Wesson model 29 with no barrel. It was definitely compact, but he said it was lacking in accuracy beyond a few yards.
Personally, I'd like to find a good used model 629 with a four-inch barrel.

K & M Wholesale in Lexington, NC has a used one for sale. I think it's a 629-5. It has a 2" or 2 1/2" barrel. 336-249-8622

Astra made a 2 1/4" rubber-gripped model called "Terminator"; I had one. It was all that, AND a bag of chips. Ergo; usless.:(
Rarely "played" with it, so ultimately it went away. I DO miss it, though......(sigh, my youthful days.....)

Hmmmm
I'm not sure, but I think "American Derringer" still makes one of their 2-shot over-unders in .44Mag. Not exactly the snubby revolver, but should get you lots of flash and unburned powder.

Try MAG-NA-PORT they have a great package called the mini combat magnum in either 2.5" or 3". I have a 3" 41MAG they built for me in the mid 80's that is just the nuts. The 3" barrel lets you keep both the front lockup and a full lenght ejector rod. Mine is the greatest backpacking gun I have ever tried.

I have the S&W Trail Boss and the S&W Mountain Backpacker. Both are 3in 629's. The Trail Boss is magna ported, They are both great revolvers. I use both for my CCW (not at the same time).
Now if I can find a 3in S&W 610 10mm ill be happy.

They are out there, and for myself, the Special loads are much more enjoyable. :)
For more info, I'd recommend you try www.smith-wessonforum.com. There is a lot of good information there.

Unless you have the wrists and forearms of Popeye, you don't want a .44 mag snubbie. An aquaintance has a S&W 29 cut down to 2.5" and magnaported. It not only recoils like a 32 pounder cannon but it puts out a fireball like an 8" howitzer.
I am quite happy with my stainless Taurus .44 special 5-shot. It is adequately accurate and .44 Spl recoil feels like a .22 after .44 mags. With good bullets (I load Gold Dots) it will stop most anything thin-skinned.
