Czech VZ-52 Rifle

I need to remove the front site base on my Czech VZ-52 rifle. I've removed the retaining pin but the base won't budge. Does anyone know if the front sight base on these rifles is silver soldered on? If so, any advice on how to properly remove it? :banghead:

If it has the cruddy painted on stoved finish I would take a "blue wrench" to it and sweat it off...

If blued I would take it to a gunsmith who has some putty he put around the sights to absorb heat to keep the bluing form being damaged by th heat as he sweat a sight on to my gun (Mauser)
