Is it true that the city of Marietta, GA REQUIRES homeowners to have guns? Or is this just a myth? Can you give me an online source for the info?

Not Marietta, but Kennesaw, GA. I used to live there. As far as I know it's a law that's been on the books since the 60's or 70's but I doubt they really enforce it considering how the population has grown.

After the Morton Grove, Illinois, city council passed an ordinance banning handguns within the city, the city council of Kennnesaw, Georgia, somewhat tongue-in-cheek passed its own ordinance mandating ownership.

I don't know how active Morton Grove is in enforcement, but Kennesaw does not enforce its ordinance.

An interesting footnote to all this is that during the next two or three years, burglaries in Morton Grove rose notably, while burglaries in Kennesaw declined toward zero.

I live just outside the city limits of Kennesaw. The law requiring every household to own a firearm is on the books, but it is not enforced. However, the percentage of gun ownership in the area is extremely high, and the crime rate is extremely low.
