SKS question...

I was in a pawn shop (looking at guns of course)
they have a Yugo SKS with a grenade launcher. Original 5 round mag. The Front sight is a bright green bubble with a flip-up white dot.
much as I've been around firearms, I don't think I've ever seen one. Maybe the ultimate SHTF weapon. I don't think you could get ammo at Wally World though.
Rare??? Valuable???

Not rare, should cost around $150 in good shape, should have a 10 round fixed mag, and takes the standard SKS round 7.62x39. Ammo is cheap and easy to find, about $65/500 at the local gun shows.

Yes---you can get ammo for it at Wally's---not nearly as cheap as the Russian surplus though.
The flip up front sight is a night sight----look closely at the rear sight too---should be a flip up night sight there too.
Rare---Yugo's have been claimed to be the smallest production variant of the SKS---I bought 2--the nicer one will live a life on easy street in the safe--just in case values go up-----the other one will be a beater shooter--probably living behind the seat of the truck---who know's maybe it will get a chance to be a Homeland Defence Rifle----lol.
Value----they should be worth more when the supply dries up---but for now they're cheap---go get a couple of them.

I wasn't thinking 7.62x39. I've got a case of that in my closet for my Russian SKS
I was thinkin' more of something for the grenade launcher. I think mebbe it'd be kinda fun to shoot off one of these. I have a friend that used an M-79 in "Nam. Said he had plenty of practice and it was pretty devastating. If you wanna turn money into noise, that should do it in a hurry.
Since I posted this a few days ago, I've seen three of these. Guess the supply opened up and they're "coming in"
