Hello,

I have the choice between two flash hiders, the vortex and the phantom.
Somebody has any experience with either one of those hiders?
Which one is the best?

The Phantom is basically a Vortex that’s closed at the front…sort of. I prefer the Phantom because of that; the Vortex has long fingers similar to the old M16A1 birdcage flash suppressor and on the off chance you ever have crawl through heavy brush, those long fingers can really catch the weeds.

Thanks Quarterboregunner, me too I prefer the Phantom because of it's closed end. Didn't know if it's as effective as the Vortex.
Now that I know both items are basically the same, I'll go ahead & buy a Phantom.

Over on AR15.com, the concensus seems to be that the Vortex is slightly more effective than the Phantom, but both are much more effective than the standard A2 flash hider.
