I use a 1911 chambered for 9mm. Up to now, I've been using Winchesters 115g fmj. I tried some 124g. Those seemed a bit softer on the recoil. What do other 9mm shooters concider the "ideal" round for target shooting.?

I like 147's for 9mm, much softer recoil keeps the gun flat and fast shots easier.

An all steel 1911 in 9mm is a real pussycat with most ammo, I just happen to like the heavy bullets with fast-ish powders for pounding paper and action shooting.

I was usually shooting WWB 115gr 9mm out of my STI Trojan 5.0 9mm. However, I have been shooting Speer Gold Dots +P more recently which cycles the slide a little faster, but still less recoil than my .45.

I like the 124gr for target shooting. For IDPA I use a 147gr that is 'downloaded' from full factory power.

I get my ammo from www.lancerammo.com I generally like to buy in bulk - it saves $$ and it comes in an ammo can.
