President Bush, a Cowboy? What the Heck is a 'Cowboy'?

OK.
I've been hearing President Bush described as a 'cowboy'.
What the heck is a 'cowboy' anyway, is it those folks that ride at rodeos and rope cows and stuff? Chews tobaccer? I didn't know cowboys even did that stuff, I always thought they were just guys that played Country music and described themselves as such for marketing purposes, tight jeans and cowboy hats being the tactical black of the music industry.
So what makes President Bush a cowboy? Being special for his own worn out misery and being alone for too long?

Dangerous ground here boys. I have an Uncle in Texas and cousins in Texas and Oklahoma that go to work every day on horseback. I rode roundup in high school for extra money. My hometown is know for having more per capita champion bullriders than anywhere in the US. In fact, Charmayne James and Scamper, 10 time world barrel racing champions, hail from my home town. I went to school with Charmayne's older sister Eugene and lusted mightily after the "in between" sister Bernadette. Their family owns the Union County Feedlot on the north side of town.

And I do INDEED watch pro rodeo every time it's on TV. Especially bullriding.

A cowboy by popular media definition is anyone that does not need a committee to make a decision and does not whiz their pants in fear before and after making the decision. America was founded by large personalities that were guided by some semblance of morals and correct conduct, I figure we need more cowboys.
Being from the east I don't get many actual cowboy chances, but I do own near only blue jeans(Wrangler), I got a big pick-up truck, I carry a gun everywhere, and I have punched a horse in the mouth over some disagreement. Do I qualify? :D

I once was sneered at in a job interview as being a "Cowboy Cop". I realized then I wouldn't get hired at this particular PC dept. So I replied: "You're right. I am a cowboy. I wear a cowboy hat, and I don't take no for an answer."
Maybe I should buy a horse too.

A cowboy is someone who has the spine to do the right thing without first consulting an academic expert, a hired gun (lawyer), or a therapist. A cowboy is such an anachronism in a me-first world that he actually believes in honor.
There aren't that many left. But there are enough.

Only been to one rodeo, to see Junior Brown play after the animal stuff.
I was pretty annoyed, lots of pretty misbehaved folks who don't give a crap about good music. :cuss: :banghead: Maybe it's Southern California cowpersons?

Seriously Skunk, you need to come to Texas for a little while. I know many a real cowboy and you'd just have to spend a little time with them to get your answer(I'd even give you a free place to crash). If it had to be put into words, Longeyes has a real good handle on it.

Well, all those oh-so-highly-sophisticated Liberals and Yurropeans laughed at Reagan as being just a "Cowboy". Howsomever, his policies led to the dissolution of the USSR and the removal of the Berlin Wall.
This naturally upset the Liberal claque--who, by the way, are mostly anti-gun, anti-RKBA.
What it is, is, we need more Cowboys...

Oh my, wouldn't that wad some people's panties...?
DC police gonna try to tell him he can't have them?
(BTW, that's one reason we don't have a better group in Congress - Mr. Smith doesn't want to go to Washington unarmed)
