I've been hearing a few patriotic and/or pro-war songs on the air, mostly from Country stations.
I thought Courtesy of the Red White & Blue was corny at first but it's growing on me, the guitar solo's kinda nifty. I heard Iraq and I Roll on the radio this morning, thought it was pretty corny, I didn't really like it. IMO Have You Forgotten is alright.
I like the message of the songs, but IMO most of these newer songs are trite, is it just me or has it not been the same since Dixie and Battle Hymn of the Republic?
OTOH, Toby Keith's 'Taliban' is a pretty good song, but I don't think it would ever fly on the radio :D Steve Earle's 'Dixieland' is probably my favorite war song, but it's about some guy during the Civil War.
Your thoughts?
