Out of curiosity, is there a setup that makes the HK93 as lightweight and handy as an AR15?

The terms "HK G3/HK91/93" and "lightweight" don't go together. I toted the telescoping stock variant in the Army for four years, and that was as light as they come. Compared to even a 20" AR, the HK roller lock series is a pig. One has a receiver made of aluminum billet, the other has a receiver made from stamped steel. No amount of magic can get a genuine HK91/93 into the same weight class as an AR. That's the trade-off for the added ruggedness.

If the G3 is too heavy for you...grow stronger. :D

Somebody makes HK clones with butt-ugly alloy receivers, which may or may not be lighter than the original.

About the only thing I can think of to lighten a G3 type is the slim, jungle forend.
And that won't save you much weight.
