I received this email, and I don't know the answer. Does anyone else?

*********
I recently read an article in Outdoor Life Magazine saying that a number
> of rifles with stainless steel barrels had to be recalled. My question
> is, were the rifles that were recalled limited to just the United States
> or do they involve ones that were sold in Canada as well? And secondly
> were the rifles in question Sako 75 or Tikka T3 stainless/composite? I
> read that the barrels were "exploding" is this correct? My friend bought
> one of the Tikka T3's in the Stainless/composite and we, in Canada have
> not heard of any recalls. Would the importer notify the consumer or does
> the retailer let us know?

You might do a search.A number of guns blew up some in the USA, Canada and Sweden. They involve Sako and Tikka stainless barrels that were defective. There was a recall however in the USA Beretta never told anyone !!!! You could call them and see if your rifle serial # is on the list. The defective barrels are on guns made after Feb 2004 IIRC.

If I were Baretta - I would upgrade and send all the impacted TIKA guys a new SAKO as a good will gesture - then I would have blamed everything on Fred the parrot.
