It s summer time, which means hot weather and kids wanting to take a dive in the pool, but firefighters have some important reminders for you to keep in mind. Eyewitness News 4's Kristi Tedesco has the story.

Watch out for those 8' deep assault pools. There is no practical purpose for a pool that deep. You can just as easily bend down andsubmerge yourself in a 4' pool and stand up if need be. The only people who are qualified to use 8' deep pools are olympic swimmers, not civilians.

Don't laugh. Backyard swimming pools might be banned 30 yrs from now. Especially if the Nader-thinking nerds have their way.

Sorry, but your statistics are incorrect. The Brady Bunch define "children" as anyone up to 24 years of age in order to determine the real threat to underage deaths.
