Been reading the threads down below about the various police Taser incidents.
I have questions about the Taser device itself.
When an officer shoots the Taser into a person, two barbed probes actually "stick" into the persons flesh correct?
If this is true what happens to the probes after the incident is cleared up?
Are they "reloaded" into the Taser gun or are they discarded?
If they are reused, what about the transmission of disease via the barbs?

Not discarded. Collected for evidence--at least in my department.

The barbs are essentialy straightened fishhooks--but they do not need to stick into the target to make the TASER work. The TASER will arc through up to 1.5 inches of clothing or space, so you can still zap someone even if you don't break skin.
