I assume you want mag extensions for 15-round 226 mags so you can use them in your 228. I bought the extensions at Brownell's.

Are you aware that only some of the older mag plates fit these extensions. I had a terrible time trying to find the mags with the right size plates that work. Wound up buying four that didn't. I finally found the correct ones at a gun show. So, be sure of what you get.

Yeah thats what I think they are is the 226 mags with an extension on it. I bought my 226 at a show and it came with a 10 RD and a 15 rd with this extension on it...sig even put a pamplet in the box about the extension. I am going to have to look up brownells website...I didnt think these were so hard to find...I might have to just break down and call sig and pay like 50 bucks for them lol :D

Armed with the above information, go here (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=20827&title=SIG+SAUER+XGRIP%7e+MAGAZINE+ADAPTER) to find the P228 XGrip magazine extender on the Brownells website.

Thanks Doug. Just what I was looking for back when 226 preban mags were cheap, and 228s were not. Glad to know somebody fills that market niche.

FWIW, for added capacity, putting a follower from a Clinton 10-rd mag into a factory 13rd 228 mag increases the capacity to 15 rds, and fits flush. My 228 ran fine with it, but I didn't want to over-compress the spring for extended periods. I use the stock 13 round mag for carry.

I imagine dremeling off the tab on the bottom of the 13 rd follower would work as well, but I've not done it.

Neither method adds grip length, if that's what you're looking for.
