I've got a line on as much of this as I want at about $200 per thousand rounds. Anybody love or hate it?
At $10 a box, I can't see going too wrong, but figured I'd check here first.
Also, anybody use this as carry ammo in a 2" snubbie?
Thanks all!

I used to carry it when it was still made. Excellent stuff. The expantion was great, i think somthing like the size of a quarter when i last tested it but that was in water so it's not official.
the +p is better than standard pressure, standard pressure doesnt expand as well.
It was reall acurate out of my taurus M85.

I didn't know it was still available. I'd snap it up.

Great stuff!!! Buy all you can afford. The last I found was only the std pressure loads.

I have less than a box of it on hand. My wife's S&W Model 14 has six of 'em in it right now if she needs a handgun around our home. I could (and would) load that gun with something else if I believed there was a superior load out there.
I figure it's one of the best deeper penetrating .38-Special loads ever made. Wish they still made 'em...

I found two boxes of it in the trade-in section of a local gun show. Was marked $24/box. I'd buy all that up for 10 bucks a pop!

If Federal Nyclads are not availalble, what is one of the next-best stoppers out of a 1 7/8" barreled .38 spcl snubby??

The new 135 gr. +P Gold Dot from Speer was specifically designed for snubbies. Have read a lot about it and is what I currently carry.

I was going to say I'd bought some bullets only on eBay, but TennTucker beat me to it. I'd much rather buy the loaded ammo. The bullets on eBay must have been seconds or rejects because they varied greatly in diameter.
Much better and easier to purchase the ammo.

I have three boxes of the lighter 125 grain +P Nyclad HP I'm keeping stashed.
It worked/works very well.
Other great loads are the FBI Load (R38S12) is my personal favorite and the new 135 Speer GDHP.

Thanks!
I'm running low. Still have a lot of the regular Nyclad for my M36 and M&P, but want more +P for my M28.

Some guy on Glocktalk was offering some about a month ago. Probably the same guy.

The .38 Special Nyclad 158gr +P SWCHP was very good stuff, and was my chosen carry round in my S&W 340PD, due to its having better accuracy and precision than any other .38 Special hollow point load out there, at least in my particular example of that gun.
Since the Nyclad line was discontinued by Federal, I've gone to the snubbie-specific Speer 135gr+P JHP in my J-frames, which hits to the same POI as the traditional 158gr LSWCHP +P rounds, but maybe I should get some more of the Nyclad; even if it's a bit old, it shouldn't go bad!

22luvr,
FWIW, a Remington representative told me that one of their best loads for a short barrel .357 magnum revolver is the .38 special +P Golden Saber 125 gr. BJHP. (A short barrel is a short barrel, so in my opinion, this load should be good for a .38 special revolver with 1 7/8" barrel.)

Good price. I saw some at ammoman.com about a month ago, but it was 25.00/box with a 5 box minimum. Didn't even come with your choice ofbaked potato or fries. I'm ordering some 135gr Gold Dots to load non +p for my Airweight.

callgood,
I read on Speer's sight that they don't recommend loading the 135 grain GD to less than +p loadings, and they don't list any non +p loads.
If you happen to work up a good non +p load that works, please share.

I have quite a bit of the 125 grain NyClads. I bought all I could find when I heard it was going out of production. Just wish I had bought the 158 grain .357 stuff too.

Udate-
This stuff is in bulk, not boxed. Still a good deal? Guess I'm paranoid about buying reloaded/reman stuff vs. NIB Nyclad. Any way to tell the difference? Any comments/suggestions?

Does the brass all say Federal and .38 Special +P?
I ordered $100 worth myself. I guess I'll get a first hand look myself. Mine shipped today.
