HK91 owners: pics of your furniture, please

I've been buying some very used HK91 furniture to put on my G3.

I got a good deal on an HK91 buttstock; I just had to swap out the receiver cap.

Today, UPS delivered a milsurp wide foregrip that I'd also bought for cheap.

The foregrip doesn't have the "stippled" texture that the buttstock does. I plan on painting both, and I'm just trying to get an idea of how stippled the texture on the wide foregrip should be.

If you have any closeup pics of your real HK91 furniture, I'd appreciate seeing them.

Thanks

Well I see that nobody has replied yet, so I just popped a few pics. They are not the best quality, but hopefully will help you out. I tried to get varying angles and lighting of the forearm to give you an idea of the texture. The stippling is actually pretty fine:

Thank you so much, Chipperman. Looks like the foregrip I have has just the right amount of texture. Now it's time to fill some minor scratches and then start painting.

how are the bipods attached to the gun? is it integral, or detachable? and does it require the use of the wide forearm?

I'm looking at a G3 with skinny forearm and I'm thinking of having a front end like chipperman's.

it attaches to the front portion of the forearm with a pushpin.....at least thats how it is on my G3 (full auto), im assuming the bipod and forearm are the same on the 91. it's on the wide forearm though.

Yes, the HK light bipod requries the use of the wide forearm. The bipod slides into a channel at the front of the forearm, where it is held in place by a little leaf spring. To remove the bipod, you simply depress the spring and rotate the bipod off the forearm: might take 3 seconds.

POF-USA sells licensed HK bits for quite reasonable prices (reasonable for the HK world, anyway).

This is a G3 take-off set from Numrich Arms (my H&K 91 originally came with the punishing H&K collapsible buttstock).

After shortening the buttstock 3/4" (handles much better this way), removing all the scratches/dings and finally sandblasting,......this is how it (and the pistol grip) turned out!

The G3 sets clean up nicely! :D

Airpower,

If you have the slim forearm and still want a bipod, there is one (HK) that slides over the front of the receiver, in front of the mag well. The legs of the bipod fold forward, when not in use. I used to have one of these when I had a 91 years ago. These bipods are a lot harder to find, though. They are heavier and give the rifle a more center-balance feel when using the bipod. It may have been designed for use in full-auto on G3s.
