Looks like another of the anti firearms folks has graced an Az paper with
her two cents regarding the right for folks to actually be able to go around
armed ?? Kids think people are game ? >

Rapid-firing-ammunition-magazines. You know, I like this state for the most part. That may have been one of the stupidest articles I have read in a while. Then again, I've lived in Az all my life and never heard of that podunk newspaper.

But common sense gun laws ARE needed, such as the following;
All children are required to learn safe gun handling techniques while in elementary school.
All able bodied individuals are required to own a gun for defense of self and country.
And I think you can infer from there.

She doesn't need common sense gun laws, just common sense would do.

Define common sense. Liberals, by definition, have none.

I never heard of the newspaper(?) either. Anyway, we are suffering an invasion of such folks, usually from California. Perhaps she should comtemplate that Arizona is filled with concealed weapons license holders who have enough "common sense" to vote.

did you hear that? How many more people have to die before they restrict these weapons!?!
(like mentioned it doesn't say anything about the majority of guns being used in crimes are obtained ILLEGALY)

makes the chance for gun crimes and gun accidents much more likely than if we insisted on a few commonsense regulations.
We already have more than a few restrictions, and none of them are "common sense." Shut your trap lady. Think, less feeling.

According to Rathner, Arizona law requires permits only for concealed weapons, "but if you have it out in the open, you don't need any permit." To gun owners, I'm sure that spells freedom; to me, it spells scary.

Definitely one of the worst articles I have ever read. I wish I could find her email address so I could send her a link to this thread.

banality extraordinaire...a flatulent repetition of the arguments I've been hearing since the seventies, interspersed with solid technical ignorance...

The Moonbat agenda:
(Our) Common Sense on Guns = More Compromise = Fewer Gun Rights
No More Compromise. Thats why I let my NRA membership lapse after 49 years.
Repeal the '89 law and the laws from the '60s and I'll compromise on the '34 law to the extent that we need not own 280mm Atomic Cannons (but Machine guns and Short Barrels are OK), and repeal the '11 NY Sullivan act. All right, I'll throw in 30mm depleted uranium sabots...altho the sabot shooters forum will be pissed.
Thaaaaats Compromise. Otherwise...Molon Labe.

Not only do we need to close our borders on the South, but the West too.
Too many Kalifornian leftists are coming to Arizona. :neener:

Lenny,
I'm not a crazy leftist Kalifornian, though I do live in SF. Can I still come there? :)
That's actually one of the things that I'm worried about, that I might move to AZ where it's still free, has good gun laws, etc., but that the state will be overwhelmed by crazy Californian folks fleeing LA sprawl, and either a) increasing crime (thus mandading some sort of "crackdown") and/or b) infiltrating the law enforcement/legislature and changing the laws to be less free.
I know Arizona's a big state, and the blazing temperatures keep all but the most dedicated out, but still...it's something I worry about.
Montana, on the other hand, has nothing to worry about. Frigid temperatures combined with mountains...hmm...that'll drive the moonbats away. :)
