Listening to 640 am (conservative talk radio) out of Atlanta, Georgia this morning on the net. News said that a police dept in a suburb or city near Atlanta was starting to conduct random vehicle searches. Apparently due to situations in Iraq and preventing terrorism. How is that legal? Does the word 'random' make it legal? Talk about taking away civil liberties! That ticks me off and I don't even live in Georgia!! :fire:
Can someone explain this?

Where can I get more info? I live in GA and listen to news radio but haven't heard this. I did hear they're doing random searches at the airport in Atlanta.

cool,

I was listening to 640 am this morning about 7-7:30am EST, it was just the regular news broadcast, as far as I could tell.

don't get your panties in a tussle. it's not talking about just searching anyone's car for the hell of it, but if you go into a government building, airport, etc. where they've always been able to search your car

Do not submit to a random unwarranted search. Just to see what happens.

What if you are going to an airport, .gov building, etc. and they do want to search your car but you refuse and say you'll just turn around and not go in. Is that okay to do? Or do they think they have the right to search your car even if you're leaving?
