Handled a beautiful, handy 20" .50 cal BP/ML rifle on a Thompson frame, and the sticker says Kathdin or something similar. It's an FFL gun. So, would I be getting a standard Contender frame, Encore frame, or a frame limited to BP, or what? The tag didn't say Encore or Contender, but it looks like an Encore.

OK, apparently it's an Encore proper frame.

But to what specifically does the word "Katahdin" refer?
