I have a can, yes it comes in a round can, of 45 acp ammo that I would like help I.D.ing. The ammo says Alpha Delayed Expansion (ADE) It is 185 gr. HP. The can is unopened and I have one can in 9mm as well. I'm looking at selling it, but first I want to find out what it is and what it's worth.
Thanks to all you experts,
ChiefBDT

That's made by American Ammunition (a-merc) (http://www.a-merc.com/products.htm). I would think giving $5 to someone to take it off your hands would be sufficient, maybe a little more if they're hesitant to risk shooting it in their pistol. ;)

American Ammunition (a-merc) products are not highly respected amongst people who shoot much. The "canned ammo" gimmick is just that-- a marketing ploy for sub standard ammo.

Even the empty brass is inconsistent and not well thought-of for reloading. When someone gives me range-pick a-merc empties, I just say thanks, and then quietly throw it away.

ChiefBDT, I'm just glad you're not burdened with a BUNCH of that stuff.

Best,
Johnny

shoot the stuff but DO NOT RELOAD THE BRASS!
it is very weak and the cases will get deformed and you will be pulling bullets.

What's A-Merc brass headstamped with? I find brass at the range and don't want to inadvertantly pick some up.

They are headstamp either "AMERC" or "AA Co.".
