CZ/Huglu Bob white 28 gauge

Decided to take the $700 plunge and get one of the Turkish (Huglu) made 28 gauge side x sides imported by CZ; picked it up today.

For the price, I'm very impressed. As most of you know, the receiver is scaled to the gauge. The wood is fitted better than some more expensive guns I own, and looks better than the price might indicate. The case hardening looks good, as does the modest engraving. The front trigger is not hinged, but I don't believe it will be a problem with the less-than-fierce 28 recoil. The metal is well finished and fitted.

The only thing I would change at the price would be to have fixed IC/MOD chokes, instead of the interchangeable chokes it came with, and maybe a hard plastic buttplate instead of a rubber recoil pad - although the pad does have a hard insert at the top to facilitate smooth mounting.

The real test is in the shooting of course, but it will be at least a week before I can try it out. The other test is how it will hold up over time, and that answer will, of course, take time!

Now that is pretty. I can't let my Brittany see those pics or she will refuse to go afield with me carrying the old 20 ga. Fox Model B any more.

lpl/nc (how about a side view?)

Alrighty. By the way, forgot to mention that the triggers are better than the one on my Citori.

oh yes, more updates as you shoot it. I have this big bag craving for a SxS and I went into Jensen Arms today, and what is on the wall but a CZ Ringcock 12ga (your gun, 12ga). 700 bucks. (699.99, same thing).
Oh dear, i know what you can get me for my birthday now. :D

Seriously, i have a couple CZ rifles and they are some of the finest rifles I own, best values for sure in the bolt guns.

So, i wanna know more.

I believe the Ringneck has a single trigger, and a pistol grip; I can't be sure because of the small pictures of it I have seen, but I think it also has false sideplates. I also think it has ejectors, as opposed to the extractors only of the Bobwhite, and a barrel extension that locks into the receiver (actually I think both the Ringneck and Bobwhite have this feature on 20 and 12 guage guns, which they considered unneccessary on the 28 and 410 guns).

Reading this over, there are sure a lot of "I think's" involved!
If you get it, please share some pictures and details with us.

Where in NC did you purchase your CZ

I bought it at "The Gun Rack", 336-996-8444. The owner ordered it for me- I did see prices of $100.00 less on the auction sites, but with shipping and transfer fees it would be close to the $699.00 I paid, and I like buying from a nearby store. I do buy a lot of guns on the internet, but they're almost always discontinued models that can't still be ordered.
