At least IMHO.A friend of mine and i took ours apart SxS and we both thought the steel guide rod (his Jericho) that extends into the front enclosed area of the slide was a great improvement over the short plastic one of my CZ-75 that stops well short of the enclosed area.In the real world,this may not make a huge difference but its a nice upgrade as far as we're concerned.CZ could have done that!:confused:

The Jericho, Tanfoglio, Witnesses have a few design "improvements" over the CZ75. They consolidated parts in a number of places compared to the CZ which should theoretically make them more reliable. Personally I don't really think it matter though.

The CZ Compacts and the full-size .40SW models have a full-length guiderod.

SIG P226s have a relatively short guide rod. You don't hear SIG guys complaining about it. I don't think it's much of an issue.

The older CZ-75s had a steel guide rod, but the same length as the current plastic version. I have the newer type in my older CZ and it works well.

The 1911 has always had a short guide rod too. 90 years of fine function tell me that a FLGR is not needed and experience with a couple tell me it is not desired either. FLGR is WAY over rated.

The best CZ-75s don't have ANY guide rod to speak of.

My '84 production model is strictly a free spring with a guide plug at one end.

The thing fits so tightly, I fail to see the need for a guide rod.

Ive got CZ's with plastic guide rods, steel guide rods and the short set up also....
CZ has done this full length setup for years...it just depends on the model of gun you have......
There is no difference in the way the guns function.....so whats the improvement? Shoot well

And another improvement of the Jericho is the full length rails of the frame.That i can see CZ not doing as its a major change.Still it is superior.

I must concur, I'm not knocking the CZ pistols (very nice handguns) However I do find the Jericho superior. The full size frame must increase stability, the slide rails are a third longer than its CZ cousin. Lets not forget these IMI handguns are not simply rebadged witness pistols. The frames and slides are built to IMI specs, then shipped to Israel Where IMI completes production of the pistol. Very high Quality control. If you hav'nt seen or shot this gun, give it a try, You will be impressed. P.S. Babyeagle/Uzi eagle/Jericho All the same gun.

I will agree that the style is very very nice...I like the full length guide rail alot.
The CZ 97, IPSC and PO1 have the full length rail setup....Sphinx has it on the 3000 and race guns.....
After shooting many CZ's and clones....
I really cant say they have LOTS of effect on the accuracy.....its a great theory..but my SA with standard frame and the 97 with full length frame, the two most accurate CZ's, shoot the same....within an inch at 25yds from a fixed rest.....
The negative about the Eagle series is the safety/decocker is slide mounted.....
Making its position a little high for most people....still nice guns.
